He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the
Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. John 1:41-42 (Dixie Jackson Theme scripture 2019-John 1:35-42)
Dixie Jackson 2019
September is the state wide prayer and offering for Dixie Jackson. The theme this
year is, “I Am Dixie Jackson”. I believe that God can use each one of us, just like
He used Ms. Jackson, many, many years ago.
For many years now, GCBA has done her part, to make a great impact, when it
comes to giving to this very wonderful offering. Each year, your association
gives close to $40,000 to this very important fund. I have no doubt that Greene
County Baptist, will once again, meet or beat this God honoring challenge.
Let me also share with you, that there are study resources available in the church packet that your
church has recently received. You may also go online to absc.org, click on the Dixie Jackson Logo for
resources, or you can call, or come by our office, and we will be glad to help. The promotion and studies
for all age groups is wonderful, and is at no cost to your church!
I would like to remind us all, that this is an offering that has come back to Greene County time and
time again. We are extremely grateful to our convention, in using a portion of this offering to partner
with us to win souls for Christ.
Golden Age 2019
One of the most popular events of the year, is the Golden Age Conference, which is held each September,
at the Williams Baptist University. The date of this years conference is September 26th, and registra-
tion deadline is September 16th. The cost is only $15.00. Space is limited! Please don’t wait to the last
minute to register. This year, we have legendary Tim Lovelace coming for both sessions. Tim is known
all over the world, for his hilarious comedy, music, and heartfelt messages. You will enjoy Tim!
In Closing
Today, we live in a fast paced, ever changing world. As a church, if we are not careful, our change may
be lagging way behind the current pace. The new year is upon us, and now is the time to re-direct, and
set new and challenging goals in your church. Maybe our office can help. We would love to sit down,
and just share with you some ideas that might be a great help to your church. Just give us a call.
God bless the work He has called you to do and thank you for your partnership.
In Christ.Brother Dave
P.S. Acts 1:8, (October 5, 2019) is right around the corner. How will history record this wonderful event?
May we be history makers, and see many lives changed for Christ. Once again Greene County Baptist,
Thank You!
When it comes to sharing the Gospel both
at home and abroad, Arkansas Baptist
churches get it. The Dixie Jackson Arkansas
Missions Offering and Week of Prayer each
September is intended to highlight and en-
courage Gospel-work that Arkansas Baptists
are faithfully supporting in our state and
beyond.
Arkansas Baptists are the prayer warriors
and partners supporting new church works.
They are the missionaries behind the Acts 1:8
One Day Mission Trip and other community
missions. They are the mentors in Christian
Men & Women’s Job Corps and Explore Your
Call summer internships. They are Disaster
Relief volunteers serving to bring Help, Heal-
ing, and Hope. They are missional couples
inviting international students into their
homes, and much more.
Dixie Jackson, the missionary for whom the
offering is named, devoted her life to ful-
filling God’s mission and involving others
in that mission all year long.
And now, 100 years later, we have the same
opportunity to passionately pray, give, and
serve. It's a heart beating for missions. It's
us. It's you. It's me. I am Dixie Jackson.
This is why we will continue to challenge Ar-
kansas Baptists to increase their giving and
their involvement. Let’s partner together to
impact our communities, our state, the na-
tion, and the world with the Good News of
Jesus.
The Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offer-
ing and Week of Prayer each September is
intended to highlight and encourage Gospel
work that Arkansas Baptists are faithfully
supporting in our state and beyond. Arkan-
sas Baptist churches are the partners, prayer
warriors, and volunteers behind new church
works, community missions like the Acts
1:8 One Day Mission Trip, collegiate minis-
tries, and Disaster Relief.
The GCBA office will be closed on Monday,
Sept. 2nd, in observance of Labor Day. We
will re-open at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept.
3rd. Have a happy and save Labor Day!
The Arkansas Families I Care 5K and Family
Fun Run supports the children and families
of Arkansas that are in crisis. Beyond meet-
ing the physical needs of the children and
families served by Arkansas Families, the I
Care 5K/ Family Fun run will demonstrate to
the abused, neglected and abandoned children
of Arkansas that I (We) Care!.
The I Care 5K is a chipped timed race designed
for the serious runner, while providing a fun
opportunity for groups and families to support
the children of Arkansas by running or walk-
ing in the 5K.
