Three of the most distinguished musicians of our time — violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, pianist Yefim Bronfman, and cellist Lynn Harrell — join forces to explore two trios with special dedications by their composers: the Trio in A minor by Tchaikovsky, dedicated “In memory of a great artist,” in reference to his friend and mentor, the pianist Nikolai Rubinstein; and the mighty “Archduke” Trio of Beethoven, a “symphony for three musicians,” as some have called it, that was dedicated to the composer’s benefactor, student, and friend, Archduke Rudolf of Austria.

Van Cliburn himself told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Tsujii was “absolutely miraculous — his performance had the power of a healing service.” An inspirational musician with formidable technique and a natural gift for pianistic color, Tsujii has earned international recognition in recent years for the excitement of his live performances.

In his first solo appearance at Weill Hall, Kahane performs Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Beethoven’s antepenultimate Piano Sonata Op. 109.
