SCHOOL SATISFACTION QUESTIONNAIRE ANALYSIS

PARENTAL SATISFACTION QUESTIONNAIRE

My thanks to the 51 parents and pupils who were able to complete the parental ofsted questionnaire. A percentage analysis of the returns is included in this newsletter. As you will have noticed, we asked questions to continue developing home school liaison and to gather your views about all aspects of school life. A very strong and positive response has been returned again with all categories having almost 100% in the ‘strongly’ and ‘agree’ boxes. The 100% positive response to good teaching and progress is illustrated by the excellent outcomes that pupils are consistently achieving. The national expectations / target results for each pupil is as good as it has ever been. Congratulations to both our teachers and our pupils. Thank you for completing the questionnaire, for showing great interest and for continuing to support the development of the school. As ever, we are reviewing the current behaviour system to see what other strategies could be implemented. At times, individual pupils need extra support with their behaviour. We aim to always deal with issues in a fair and consistent way. Please be reassured that sanctions are put in place and appropriate support given. We also always listen to individual concerns but may not be in a position to change school policy which I am sure you understand.

For 10 weeks this summer, Birmingham’s streets, parks and open space will become alive with colour as we welcome the ‘parliaments’ of owlets that have been designed by children across schools in the West Midlands. As you are aware, Green Meadow took part in this fantastic project and created the beautiful Penelope feathers. She is going to be part of ‘The Little Hoot Trail’. The 120 owlet sculptures will be scattered across Birmingham for all to see. Our

owlet has taken pride and place at Woodgate Valley Country Park and will be available for all to see from 20th July. To find out more information or to view ‘The Little Hoot’ trail map visit www.thebighoot.co.uk. We hope you take this opportunity to see the hard work and effort the children of Green Meadow have put into this project.

LUNCH WITH THE BOSS As part of our ‘Lunch with the Boss’ initiative, sixteen pupils, nominated by their teachers, were selected to enjoy a meal at Frankie and Benny’s restaurant in Selly Oak. Everyone seemed to enjoy the occasion. The chosen sixteen were:- Rohan, Evie, Millie, Joshua, Noor, Lexie, Chloe, Sam, Mckenzie, Joseph, Tanya, Imagin, Samuel and Isabel.

SUMMER HOLIDAY HOME LEARNING Six weeks is a long time to be away from formal education. Continuing with activities will make the transition to the new class that much easier. So as well as all the holiday activities that you have planned we will be setting some summer home learning. Your child’s new teacher will be happy to see any completed work in September. Children across school have been set home learning which prepares them for the new term’s topics. This has already been issued. Please also look on the school’s website for further details. Thank you.

Reception children have achieved so much this year and we are very proud of all of them. As the end of term approaches we have been enjoying the sunny weather outside. All the children and their teddy bears loved the teddy bears’ picnic. The jam sandwiches were a real success as was our healthy Gruffalo crumble that all the children helped to make. We wish all the children a very happy and safe summer holiday and wish them every success in year 1 next year. Best wishes, the Reception team.

Parents’ Evening Thank you for attending Parents’ Evening on Tuesday, 14th July. Having a full Parent Consultation opportunity at this time of year was a new experience and has enabled you to know where your child sits within the new age related end of year expectations. Overall, 69% of pupils were represented by their parents and carers. We will continue developing the new curriculum and assessment procedures and look forward to sharing this with you in the New Year.
