GREEN ACRESSituated on the beautiful rural fringes of Worcester is the delightful village of Crowle Green, and right in the centre of the village, just a stroll away from both the Post Office and newly refurbished pub is Green Acres, a large and beautifully presented family home. “We moved to Green Acres in 1978,” says Chris, “and at that time it was just a two-bed property, which was ideal for my wife and I, but as our family grew so did the bungalow and it’s now a really spacious family home.”

Situated on the edge of the popular village of Crowle is this delightful spacious property which has many versatile features and stunning views across the Worcestershire countryside.

This great family home is a generously proportioned residence which has been home to the current owners for over 30 years and has seen their family grow up. The house is set well back from the village road and has fields to the side and rear of the property, giving a real sense of country living. The present family have sympathetically modernised and extended their home during the time they have lived there by adding extra living accommodation, surround sound music systems with B&W speakers, remote control lighting, and a conservatory.

The ground floor has numerous reception rooms and bedrooms, which could easily be converted to accommodate a self contained annexe which would be suitable for an elderly relative, teenager or au pair. At present the current owners have a relative living with them who has their own sitting room, bedroom and very large bathroom with bath and separate shower.

As well as the extensive property, the surrounding gardens and outside areas are set in approximately 0.67 of an acre with a variety of mature trees, herbaceous borders, a rockery, patio area for BBQ and a useful storage which is currently used to house the mower.

For the gardeners there are raised beds to grow your own fruit and vegetables, together with a variety of fruit trees including Victoria Plum, Bramley, Conference Pears and general eating apples.

Our favourite part of the house is probably the living room,” says Chris, “we spend a lot of our time in there. It’s very spacious but cosy feeling, and we’ve had wall and ceiling

speakers installed so we can enjoy surround sound when watching TV.”

Seller Insight Situated on the beautiful rural fringes of Worcester is the delightful village of Crowle Green, and right in the centre of the

village, just a stroll away from both the Post Office and newly refurbished pub is Green Acres, a large and beautifully presented family home. “We moved to Green Acres in 1978,” says Chris, “and at that time it was just a two-bed property, which was ideal for my wife and I, but as our family grew so did the bungalow and it’s now a really spacious family home.”

“During our time here we’ve extended the property twice, once shortly after we moved in and then again in 2000. These additions have added a double, integral garage with two lovely big bedrooms above, a larger kitchen, a generous utility cum second kitchen, and we now have six bedrooms in total. The house is large and comfortable, and there’s a nice flow from room to room which makes it an easy house to live in, whether it’s just the two of us here or even when it’s full of family.”

“Both the kitchen and the conservatory have doors that lead out onto the patio, so there’s a nice connection between inside and out,” continues Chris, “and the patio is large enough to take a hot tub, which is something we quite fancied putting in, but never quite got around to. The rest of the garden is mainly laid to lawn, and it looks out over the field beyond, which is usually home to a flock of sheep, so the view is nice and the garden as a whole feels extremely private.”

“Our favourite part of the house is probably the living room,” says Chris, “we spend a lot of our time in there. It’s very spacious but cosy feeling, and we’ve had wall and ceiling speakers installed so we can enjoy surround sound when watching TV.”

“I think what both my wife and I love most about the location is that we enjoy everyday life in a nice, quiet, friendly village,” says Chris, “however, we’re surrounded by an array of well-served towns and if we need to travel further afield the transport links are very good.”

“The last extension that we added could easily be sectioned off and a separate entrance could be added to create a very generous annexe,” says Chris. “In fact the accommodation in the house as a whole is extremely flexible, so can be adapted according to your way of living.”

“This has been a really wonderful family home for the past 38 years and we will be very sad to leave,” says Chris.

Worcester is the site of the final battle of the Civil War. The River Severn runs through the middle of this attractive city, overlooked by the 10th-century Worcester Cathedral.

The county town and historic city of Worcester is just 17 miles southwest of Birmingham and 23 miles north of Gloucester. The city historically hosted a flourishing glove making industry and was the home of Royal Worcester Porcelain as well as, for much of his life, the composer Sir Edward Elgar.

Providing the ideal location for retail therapy, there are three large covered shopping centres and an additional three out of town shopping parks. The main commercial centre can be found on the recently modified high street, home to a number of major retail chains and the older shopping streets contain numerous individual boutiques. There is also a racecourse, theatre, cricket club and university.

The green city of Worcester provides three spacious parks and two large woodlands covering over 33 hectares. The banks of the River Severn provide an idyllic setting for an evening stroll or bike ride, surrounded by the wonderful Worcestershire countryside bounded by the Malvern Hills and pretty market towns.

Historic landmarks include the spectacular Worcester Cathedral, dating back to the 10th Century and the Queen Anne style Guildhall designed by Thomas White, a pupil of Sir Christopher Wren in 1722. The latest landmark is Worcester’s new central library, ‘ The Hive ‘, a striking gold roofed building on the site of the former cattle market.
