• In the Greek cuisine there isn’t the first course. The meal starts with some appe>zers called mezédes or orek>ká.
• The next dish can be meat or fish, cooked on the grill or on the griddle, or salad and cheese.
• The most common ingredient is olive oil.

• The appe>zers Mezédes are made of black olives, pickled vegetables and vegetables preserved in oil.
• Really good are the dolmádes (roulade with rice and minced meat).

• Pitákia is French pastry stuffed with chicken, cheese, vegetables, minced meat and chicken.
Appe>zers • Some sauces that you can taste with the appe>zers are Taramosalata (sauce made with fish roe), Melitzanosalata (sauce with eggplant) and Tzatziki (yogurt with cucumber and herbs).

Main dishes
• Souvlákia, meat cooked on a spit • Giouvétsi, roasted lamb with pasta • Gyros, that is a sort of veal kebab served like píta gýros, meat dressed with tzatzíki, tomato and onion, rolled in a píta, a circle piadina.
• Really appreciated are the dishes cooked in the oven. The most famous is Moussakà, a pie of potatoes, ragù, béchamel, eggplants.
