When a dog is entered in more than one class, the highest priced class is considered the first entry.If a dog is entered in any combination of Conformation, Obedience or Rally, you must pay the feefor the first entry of the dog in EACH event, as they are separate events. MOVE UP POLICY FOR THE SPECIALTY AND TRIALS: The Club will permit a move up to the next levelclass in accordance with AKC regulations. The request for a Move-Up must be made in writing and presentedto the Show Superintendent at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the specified event, show or trial. Moveup forms will be available at the Superintendent's Table.

The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America will NOT be accepting Rally or Obedience entries for Dogslisted in the AKC Canine Partners Program, which included All American/Mixed Breed Dogs.

Each guestroom will be expected to sign a waiver for any damage to the room and will be inspected priorto departure by a Hotel representative. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club will provide each attendee/hotelguest with plastic sheets for use underneath pet crates to protect carpeting. Pets must be crated at all timeswhen left unattended in guestrooms. Pets may NOT be bathed or groomed in guestrooms. A flat cleaningfee of $50.00 per guestroom will be charged to any room requiring excessive cleaning due to hotel guest(s)not cleaning up after their pet. All guestrooms with two double beds will have 5 bath towels, 2 hand towels,and 4 wash cloths provided by the hotel daily. If towels are missing or excessively soiled, a $25.00 towelreplacement fee per set per day will be charged. Complimentary shuttle service is available fom the LehighValley International Airport.

JUDGES AWARD OF MERITAwards of Merit will be awarded after Best of Breed judging is completed to Greater SwissMountain Dogs in the Best of Breed Competition that exemplify the breed's characteristics. Theseawards are reserved for those quality animals the judge feels are worth of final consideration forBest of Breed. The dogs selected for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed,Select Dog and Select Bitch are not eligible for an Award of merit. At the judge's discretion, up tosix (60 awards of merit will be awarded in the Best of Breed competition, which shall includemoveups, Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and first place in Veteran Dog and Bitch Classes.

Bred-by-Exhibitor (BBE) Class Eligibility (revised 09/02)All dogs entered int he Bred by Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The personhandling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit inthis class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record.

Best Puppy in Regular Puppy ClassThe first place winners from the individual Regular Puppy Classes (6-9 mos and 9-12 mos) will compete forthe award of Best Puppy in the Regular Classes. Best Puppy competition will follow Winners Bitch judging.

Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in Bred-by-exhibitor ClassesThe first place winners from the individual Bred-by-Exhibitor Classes will compete for the award of Best Bred-by-Exhibitor. Best Bred-by-Exhibitor competition will follow Winners Bitch judging on Wednesday.

Owner-Handled Best of BreedAll dogs that are owner/handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers meet the requirementsfor this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handled eligible at the time of entry usingthe check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward's book and thecatalog. Dogs must be handled throughtout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlersmay not exhibit the dog in this competition.

The Owner handled Best of Breed will be slected fromt he dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best ofBreed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.

Best Veteran in the Veteran ClassesThe First place winners from the Veteran Classes will compete for the award of Best Veteran and Best ofOpposite Veteran. Best Veteran competition will follow Best of Breed judging on Wednesday.

Ribbon prizes will be awarded for first through fourthplace in each class. Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches may be entered.

Non-regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries

As the judge's decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Mutliple Dog Entries is based on the meritsof more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classeswill be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.

Stud Dog Class - For Stud Dog and a minimum of two (2); maximum of four (4) of their Get.It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownerhsip as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog maybe entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Competition,but MUST be entered inthe Stud Dog Class, the Get MUST be entered in one of the regular classes. TheStud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus theadditional class fee if the Stud Dog is entered in another Class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ringwith the Get. The class will be judged on the merirs of the Get.Note - Chapter 11, Section 8, of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, provides neutered ddogs may beentered as the Stud Dog.

Brood Bitch Class - Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Producefor Get.

Brace Class - Full particulars for each dog entered must be given on individual Official AKC Entry Forms.Two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similiar in appearance, performing in unison andpresented by a meximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least onecommon owner.

Generation Class - Three dogs with one exhibit from each generation of a three generation pedigree regardlessof sex, exhibited from oldest to youngest. Neuetered dogs and spayed bitches are eligible. Ownership doesnot need to be identical. Dog #1 - Father or Mother; Dog #2 - Son or Daughter; Dog #3 - Grandson orGranddaughter of Dog #1 and Son or Daughter of Dog #2. Dogs entered in the Generations Class do notneed to be entered in a regular class.

When making entries in the Multiple Dog Entry Classes...Please indicate on the entry forms as to which dog(s) are to make up tht entry in each Brace, Stud Dog, BroodBitch or Generations Classes. If there is to be more than one Brace, please indicate "Brace 1", "Brace 2",etc.

day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places with competitionpresent in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 yearsold on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, withcompetition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

NOVICE SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on theday of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competitionpresent, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the dayof the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present,in a Novice Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years oldon the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competitionpresent, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the dayof the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present,in a Novice Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show.

MASTER CLASS: This Class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years onthe day of the show, and who have won the 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for thisclass will consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniorsmeeting the criteria for this class are required to entry the Master Class and may change their entry theday of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passedall participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

Competition must exist for Best Junior Handler.

NOTICEJUNIORS WITH A DOG ALSO ENTERED IN ANOTHER CLASS OFFERED AT THIS SHOW WHOSUBSTITUTE A DOG NOT ENTERED IN THIS SHOW MUST REMIT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUNIORONLY AND JUNIOR AS AN ADDITIONAL CLASS ENTRY FEE. JUNIORS WHO HAVE ENTERED JUNIORSHOWMANSHIP ONLY WHO THEN SUBSTITUTE ANOTHER DOG WILL NOT BE CHARGED A FURTHERFEE.

Obedience Trial ClassificationBITCHES IN SEASON. Since bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience Trials, the Club will

refund all but seven dollars of the entry fee for bitches unable to compete for that reason. The Superintendent mustbe notified of such claim for refund at the show or by letter postmarked MAY 14, 2017 or earlier.

Veteran Class - The Veterans Class will be for dogs that have an obedience title and are at least 7 yearsold on the date of the trial. The exercises will be performed and judged as in the Novice Class. Dogs maybe entered in another class or classes.

Team Obedience Class - The Team Class will be for teams of any four dogs that are eligible under theseregulations. Five dogs may be entered, one to be considered an alternate for which no entry fee will be required.However, the same four dogs will perform all exercises. Dogs may be handled by the owner or any otherperson, need not be entered in another class at the same trial, and need not have obedience titles. A separateofficial entry form will be completed in full for each dog entered.

Rally Trial ClassificationBITCHES IN SEASON. Since bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience Trials, the Club will

SWEEPSTAKESThe Sweepstakes are open to all Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and bitches that are at least 6 months old,but not more than 18 months old ont he day of the show. Entry shown in Sweepstakes must be entered inone of the regular classes at the regular entry fee and on the regular entry form. All others shall be termed a Parent Club Specialty Show.Unless the Parent Club, in its Application to the AKC to hold its National Specialty, chooses toexclude the following Award; At the National Specialty the dog designated Reserve Winners Dogand the Bitch designated Reserve Winners will be awarded a three (3) point major, provided thatthe number of dogs competiting in the regular classes of the Reserve Winners sex totals at leasttwice the number required for a five (5) point major, in the region in which this event is held. NoMajor for Reserve Winners shall be given based upon an award of Best of Winners. In countingthe number of dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, or that is dismissed, excused orordered from the ring by the judge or from which all awards are witheld, shall not be included.

A RECORDING FEE OF $.50 & a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee and $3.00 for Rally AKC Event Service Feewill be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test.This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dogis entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only.(American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2).

RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Superintendent will add a $20.00 fee to theamount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their beingput on a CASH ONLY basis.

or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other actsbeyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry feewill be made.

ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may makesuch errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the publishedclosing date.

NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog hasbeen processed, no refund will be made.

CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING.DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging

will be excused.JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are respon-sible

for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-givingclub and the Show Superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a publicaddress system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into thering when required.

ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in theexercise pens.

CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be madein the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the show Superintendent to be advised at once. TheShow Superintendent and Show-giving Club may disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of thebreed is over.

THERE SHALL BE NO drilling nor intensive or corrective training of dogs on the show grounds or premises.EXHIBITORS SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR VETERINARIAN'S RECOMMENDATION to assure their dogs are free

of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.GSMDCA RESERVES the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. ALL TROPHIES AND PRIZES must

be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed or otherwise distributed.THE WELFARE OF AN EXHIBITOR'S CHILD OR AN ATTENDEE'S CHILD is assumed to be the responsibility

of the exhibitor or attendee. It is distinctly understood that exhibitors and attendees will exercise control andrestraint over their children on the days of the show.

ALL PERSONS ATTENDING THESE DOG SHOWS hereby waive any claim for damages against the Greater SwissMountain Dog of America, its members or agents, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue adog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation.

INSTRUCTIONS1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety

you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniels (Black, ASCOB, Parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in.; over 13 in. but not exceeding15 in.), Dachshunds (Longhaired, Smooth, Wirehaired), Bull Terriers (Colored, White), Manchester Terriers (Standard, Toy),Chihuahuas (Smooth Coat, Long Coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles(Toy, Miniature, Standard), Collies (Rough, Smooth).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Recordand dogs which, according to their owner's records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championshipsare unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is Limited to a period of 90 days from thedate of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list, if the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided,then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., agedivision, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered doghas been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after thedate of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recordedin his name. State on the entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter14, Section 3.).

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog "All-American Dog/Mixed Breed." Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed etrants.
