A CASE IN POINT

Here’s an example of how VMware NSX and vRealize Automation work together to provision a new application from the ground up, with all-new virtual networking and security.

This entire three-tier virtual network is deployed on top of the existing physical network. Each VM is tagged and placed in the appropriate security group with the appropriate firewall rules. The deployment includes a logical load balancer for the application’s Web tier to ensure that users get a highly responsive application.

Self-service, policy-based infrastructure, and application provisioning are incorporated from vRealize Automation. Normally, a multi-tier application environment like this would take as long as a month to provision. With VMware NSX and vRealize Automation—the entire environment—complete with network and security services—can be provisioned in minutes.

In other words, IT gains a level of speed and efficiency that translates directly into bottom-line results.
