I love animals. God gave us dominion over them. That means He expects us to care for them and treat them humanely. Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter and the volun-teers there do an incredible job. They are some of the best people I've ever met. True heroes! Thank you shelter staff and volunteers!

But, they need US to step up and adopt these beautiful souls. These dogs and cats need real HOMES and FAMILIES. They were not meant to stay in kennels and cages. In addition to the furbabies you see here there are several kitties in the cat colony that have been in the shelter for well over a year. PLEASE consider visiting the shelter, it's really a NICE place now, check out the dog runs while you are there, and be a hero to one of these animals that have been there so very long. You will be so glad you did! Like us on Facebook and message me that YOU are a hero! You just might be in next month's article!

Heineken is the purrfect cat to adopt during Oktoberfest! Will you come get him so you can celebrate together? He's been on the wagon since 10/15/12.

Elliot has the sweetest face, he wanted his nose in the camera for a head shot to show it to you! He's ready to sweeten up your life, please go spring him from the joint! He's been wait-ing since 9/19/12.

Taraji wants to know 'Are you lonely?' Ninja kitty to the res-cue! She LOVES being held and will end your lonely days and nights. She's been looking for her furever lap since 1/4/13.

Moneypenny is a beautiful, sweet, calico. Can't decide what color cat you want? Get them all in one kitty! She's been waiting on her furever family since 3/19/13. Will you please take her home?
