About the League

The Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League (GCHSHL) promotes pure, wholesome, amateur hockey among its member schools.

The league was established in 1970.

The GCHSHL regulates, supervises and administers interscholastic hockey competition among its member schools so that the interscholastic program is an integral factor in the total educational program of the schools.

League Structure

For the 2017-18 season, the league consists of 37 teams. Teams are organized into 3 leagues based upon skill level:

Blue: 13 teams White: 12 teams Red: 12 teams

Each league is divided into 2 divisions:

Blue North: 6 teams

Blue South: 7 teams

White North: 6 teams

White South: 6 teams

Red North: 6 teams

Red South: 6 teams

Each team will play other teams within their division twice.

Regular Season Play

League play will start on Tuesday, November 28th and conclude on Sunday, February 4th.

League Playoffs

The Baron Cup tournament represents the league's playoff season. Playoffs will start on Monday, February 5th. The 2017-18 season will mark the 48th Baron Cup tournament.

League play will determine playoff standings. The top 8 teams from each league will qualify for the league playoffs.

All playoff games take place at the John M. Coyne Recreation Center (7600 Memphis Ave, Brooklyn, OH 44144).
