Chirl GirlHost / Producer of The Chirl-Girl Show2014 Women’s Empowerment Brunch Host
Chirl Girl, an 19–year radio veteran, has hosted every format of music imaginable: country, beach music, top 40, gospel, urban and adult contemporary. Her first job in radio was at WSAT-AM in her hometown of Salisbury, NC at the age of 10. As a trailblazer of the industry, Chirl was the first African-American Personality to ever host a show on WSOC-FM (Charlotte’s country station). In addition to her many talents, Chirl has an extensive background in theatre. Her passions for the arts lead her to working with the North Carolina Black Reparatory Theatre and the Piedmont Players. She also starred in a local production of “The Bluest Eye” at the Afro-American Children’s Theatre. Chirl even worked as a theatre make-up artist at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Naturally, Chirl is a talented speaker. Her honors include awards from the Toastmasters organization; speaking engagements to benefit the United Negro College Fund, UNC-TV(WTVI), the Pride Awards and countless other events. She has been recognized for her continued support of her community through her volunteer work. In her spare time, Chirl can found reading, paper sculpting and dancing. And yes, she can do everything from shagging to line dancing to dropping it like it’s hot!
