Gravity is the force that the Earth has. It pulls objects toward it.

Isaac Newton accidentally discovered it when he was under a tree and an apple fell on his head.

The gravity of the Sun and the Moon pulls the Earth.

That is why we have two low tides

and two high tides

The Hubble telescope is a reflecting telescope that takes amazing pictures of space.

LIVING THINGS AND SPACE

Galileo was the first person to prove that the Earth orbits the Sun. He also invented the telescope (refracting telescope)

Isaac Newton lived in the XVII century

Laika the dog was the first living thing that went to space. It was in 1957.

Yuri Gagarin was the first person that went to space. It was in 1961.

Neil Amstrong was the first person that orbited and walked on the Moon. It was in 1969.

Neil Amstrong travelled in Apollo XI, the first space shuttle that landed on the Moon.

The International Space Station (Estacin Espacial Internacional) is the place where people from different countries study the Solar System. It also gives us information about the climate, weather, etc.
