AnimalsRed tailed hawk, Zebra, Prairie Dog, AfricanElephant, Bison, Black Rhino, Black-footedferret, Brown Hyena, Giraffe, Greater PrairieChicken, Lion, Ostrich, Pronghorn, Warthog, Badger, Cheetah, Baboon. This meansthat grasslands are usually found between the desert andthe forest, but It would become a forest if grasslands hadmore rain and If it had any less rain, it would be a desert. There are 3 types of grasslands. Tall grasslands have verytall grass, up to 5 feet tall, and they get almost 30 inchesof rain a year. Mixed grasslands have grasses that grow to2 to 3 feet tall. This kind of grassland gets about 15 to 25inches of rain a year. The third kind of grassland is theshort grasslands. This type of grassland is almost adesert. It has very short grass and only receives 10 inchesof rain each year. 15. Interesting Facts True prairies and grasslands are becoming harderand harder to find. People are capturing the wildlands, and the grasslands are becoming as extinctas the animals that are missing from them today. In Africa, national parks are being set up to lookafter the grasslands. This will help the animalssuch as lions and elephants to live on for moregenerations. The United States are starting to look after thewild grasslands, too.
