VIRTUALLY ZERO EMISSIONS

The adhesive technology in GRASSBuilt significantly falls below the 0.05ppm Exempt level under the Federal and California EPA regulations for formaldehyde emissions. GRASSBuilt tested as low as 0.02ppm, nearly the same as widely recognized testing chamber background level at 0.01ppm. A no added formaldehyde (NAF) system is also available upon specification.

Class A FIRE RESISTANT

GRASSBuilt has achieved a Class A fire rating under the ASTM E-84 protocol. Specific to flooring, GRASSBuilt has achieve a Class 1 rating tested to the ASTM E-648 method. If you need heightened safety and/or are required to have fire resistant products in your project, be sure to specify GRASSBuilt FR™.

THE GRASSBUILT™ STORY

Perfecting the ScrimTec™ technology, GRASSBuilt was launched in 2015 to begin production of a completely new product for industrial products like flooring, furniture and cabinet components, countertop and stair treads. The GRASSBuilt brand stands for Green Renewable Affordable Sustainable Systems - defining our commitment to safe and sustainable building products that have very high structural performance properties. While the primary fiber used in GRASSBuilt is bamboo, we are also offering pine and cedar options sourced from local thinnings. Other renewable fiber types are being developed.

Producing the very first Made in the USA Bamboo Flooring places GRASSBuilt into a special category. We are challenging the existing supply model of imported bamboo flooring from Asia. Being domestically produced means short lead times, smaller carbon footprint and third party laboratory backing to our test results you can trust.

Our product development team has decades of experience in composite product manufacturing, including fire retardant and low emission technologies. The next phase for GRASSBuilt will be the introduction of structural beams, timbers and lumber. Combining architectural applications with structural building products has never been done before.
