This portfolio is a collection of selected work between 2008 from 2012.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May of 2012, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Architecture and a minor in Business Management. Over the past four years, I found that my interests and talents are better matched to the field of graphic design and advertising rather than architecture. I have always had interest, and skill, in graphic design; the education and experience I received from the University of Minnesota has only strengthened these qualities.
The School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota is based on design process and creative work, rather than a technical approach to construction and engineering buildings. Beginning with introductory level courses, and acting as a common thread throughout all coursework, we were taught how to think with design foremost in mind. This is a strength that translates well into the graphic design field.
I was able to build on the abilities I learned at the University of Minnesota in thesummer of 2012, I worked for the St. Paul Saints Professional Baseball Club as a Graphic Design and Photography Intern. During my internship with the Saints I gained experience in every facet of the Saints operation. Much of my work was used to promote the Saints; these projects ranged from baseball cards, ballpark signage to social media and gamepresentation.
I consider myself to be highly motivated and I enjoy getting all the details of a design project just right. I also enjoy interacting with people and sharing my ideas. While I have completed my degree in Architecture, my interests and strengths are in graphic design. The diversity of my education is a strength; I bring a different perspective to the graphic design field than a prospective employee who completed a degree in Graphic Design. My creativity, myperseverance when working on a project, and my ability to work well with others are allvaluable assets I would bring to my employment.
