HELP FEED THE HUNGRY AT THANKSGIVINGThis year First Presbyterian is again sponsoring Boxes of Love, a ministry that shares the love of Christ with people in need at Thanksgiving. Each Box of Love contains a complete meal for six. FPC is committed to providing boxes to needy families at Mattoon Presbyterian and the Bel-Aire Community. Boxes will be packed and distributed on Saturday, November 19. Financial donations ($30/box) are needed, as well as volunteers to assist in distributing the boxes and meeting with the recipients. Please contact Denton Burnette ([email protected]) if you can help, or sign up on Sunday in Memorial Hall or Fellowship Hall.
SHARE THE WARMTH!Russell Memorial Presbyterian Church is collecting new or gently used blankets, coats, and warm clothes through November. These items will be distributed when the Latino Ministry hosts its Health Fair for the community early in December. Especially needed are coats and sweaters for children. Donations may be taken to Russell (31 Calhoun Avenue) or dropped off inside the FPC office. Contact Pastor Dale Youngs at Russell Memorial for more information (363.3370).
