In her New York Times bestselling novel Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, Jennifer Chiaverini illuminated one of the First Lady’s most private relationships. In Mrs. Lincoln’s Rival, she tells of the famous First Lady’s very public social and political contest with Kate Chase Sprague. And now in The Spymistress, she is back with another enthralling historical novel about the life of “a true Union woman” who risked everything by caring for Union prisoners of war — and stealing Confederate secrets.

Jennifer Chiaverini, a Thousand Oaks High School graduate and former employee at the Thousand Oaks Library, is an American quilter and author. She is best known for writing the Elm Creek Quilt novels and her bestselling novel, Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker. She will talk about her three latest novels, her career, and sign copies of her books, which will be for sale.

This program is hosted by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library. Members can get free tickets to reserve a spot for this program at the library’s reference desks beginning June 8. Friends members will get fi rst seating at the program if they arrive before 1:45 P.M. Seats for the public will be available on a fi rst come, fi rst served basis after 1:45 P.M.
