Why does my wine have a screw cap??As many of you have noticed more and more wines have adoptthe screw cap or synthetic cork to replace the traditional cork inbottle of wine. If you have ever experienced this most unpleasaodor of wet newspaper or cardboard you have encountered corked wine. Also known as TCA taint, it is the interaction onatural compound found in cork trees, mold, and chlorine used bleach corks. It is now estimated that one in every fifteen bottles

now affected by cork taint to some degree!! Screw Cap Anyone?

Vina Salceda, Ribera del Duero Why are the wines listed by region??

The understanding of terroir is the definitive answer to this question. Terroir is

French word that has no English translation. Simply put, it refers to the soil compostion, the climate, and anything else in or around the vines that could possibly affe

the final outcome of how a wine smells, tastes, and compliments food. So, as you casee, where a wine comes from is as important as the varietal!

What makes sweet wine sooo... sweet??Sweet wines are available in many different styles and gravarietals. The process of allowing the grapes to ripen to an etremely high sugar content is the basis for all dessert w

production. Sweet wines are the perfect accompaniment todessert course or by themselves as a palate cleansing end todelicious meal!
