Second class bids farewell toLake Norman High School

Lake Norman High Schoolwill graduate its second classsince opening in 2002. Theceremony will begin at 7:30p.m. in the stadium. In theevent of rain, the ceremonywill take place in the gymna-sium.

South Iredell’s Class of 2004says goodbye to alma materThe Class of 2004 at

South Iredell HighSchool will say farewell

to their school during gradua-tion exercises beginning at 7p.m., Friday, May 28, in theschool stadium.

Addressing their fellowgraduates during the ceremo-ny will be this year’s honorspeakers, announced recentlyby South Iredell Principal TeriBoling – Teresa Nicole Beard,Eric Kyle Belk and SusanMarie Ervin have earned thehonor in 2004.

Teresa Beard is the 2004valedictorian. She is thedaughter of Joyce and DavidBeard of Troutman and hasbeen the recipient of the

Bausch and Lombe ScienceAward, was named to Who’sWho Among American HighSchool Students and acted aschief junior marshal duringthe 2003 graduation ceremo-ny. Teresa enjoys writing poet-ry and is very active in herchurch. She hopes to attendDavidson College and willmajor in English or Spanish.

Kyle Belk, salutatorian, isthe son of Phyllis and BradleyBelk of Mooresville. He hasbeen involved in Beta Cluband Junior Jaycees, as well asmarching band and jazz bandduring his years at SIHS. Hehas served as drum captainfor the last two years. Kyle isvery involved in his church

and community and plans togo to North Carolina StateUniversity, where he willmajor in chemistry.

Honor Speaker SusanErvin is the daughter of Ednaand Robert Moose of Moores-ville. She has been involved innumerous clubs and activitieswhile at SIHS, includingFBLS, Beta Club, Vikinettes,Youth Legislature, PromCommittee and NVTHS.Susan was a runner up in theMiss South Iredell Contestand won the Scholastic Awardfor Junior Miss. She plans toattend the University of NorthCarolina at Charlotte, whereshe will major in political sci-ence.
