Graduate Programme in Economics
The admission process for Master Degree takes place between September and November for enrol-ment at the beginning of the first academic semester in March. It consists in an exam at national level that incorporates five areas of knowledge: Macroeconom-ics, Microeconomics, Mathematics, Statistics and Brazilian Economics.
Applicants for the Doctorate Degree are admitted by a specific selection process, which include exams on Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Economic Thought, the presentation of a research project and an interview.
There is also a specific selection process for foreign candidates to both Master and Doctorate programs that usually happens in September.

Federal research agencies (CAPES and CNPq) and the Rio de Janeiro State research agency (FAPERJ) provide to the GPE-UFF around forty schol-arships for graduate students.

QUANTITATIVE METHODS includes ‘Mathemat-ics for Economics’ and “Statistics and Economet-rics”.5
The GPE-UFF is located at the Faculty of Economics, which contains an “Applied Economics Laboratory” with capacity for 24 students. Students have also a “study room” with capacity for 12 students. The Faculty of Economics provides GPE with facilities such as research rooms, seminar rooms and an auditorium for 200 people.
