    Master's

    (1) You have received or expect to receive a bachelor's degree in Korea or abroad.

    (2) You have an academic qualification that is regarded equivalent to bachelor'sdegree under the Korean law.

    Ph.D.

    (1) You have received or expect to receive a master's degree in Korea or abroad.

    (2) You have an academic qualification that is regarded equivalent to master'sdegree under the Korean law.

    2. Qualifications

    A. Basic Qualifications

    First, you have to satisfy one of the following conditions - Both of your parents have foreign nationality.

    - You completed your entire education abroad.

    B. Academic Qualifications

    Notes on Qualifications

    1. Regardless of the study area you majored in at bachelor's level, you can apply for any department at

    master's level.

    2. When you apply for a Ph.D program and the study area of your Master's degree is different from the

    one of the Ph.D program, you have to obtain a recommendation letter from the head of the relevant

    departmentForm 3. (Exception: Integrated degree program)

    3. When you expect to receive a degree for qualification, you should receive it by Aug. 2014.

    C. Language requirement (You should satisfy one of the below.)

    TOPIK : 3rd grade or above

    (Applicants who have completed the 3rd or higher grade language course at the PNU International

    Language Institute are considered equally qualified.)

    English : TOEFL PBT 550(CBT 210, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550, TOEIC 675 or above

    - A small number of students for each recruiting unit

    4. Selection Procedures

    A. The main method of evaluation is review of application documents. There is no

    interview but the relevant academic department may contact the student by phone

    (including video phone) or email to check the applicant's academic capacity.

    B. Evaluators at each department assess scores of previous education, financial status, study

    plan & personal statement and make a judgement on the overall academic capacity.

    5. Application Fee

    - KRW 50,000 or USD 60

    The application is completed only after you pay the application fee.

    There is no refund once the application is made.

    6. How to Apply On-line

    . Study the admission guidelines carefully(Check the list of departments recruiting.). . Go to our admission

    website (go.pusan.ac.kr). Access the application website at the pop-up window or 'Notice.' . Log in after member

    registration. . Fill out the on-line application form page 1. . Print out and sign the application form page

    1. . Pay the application fee. . Check if the application is successful. . Prepare all the required

    documents together with the application form page 1 and 2 and put the checklist on top of all the documents.

    Once the application is completed, it cannot be canceled. You cannot change the department

    or major of your choice either.

    Your contact information including your landline and mobile phone numbers and email

    address should be precise so that PNU can contact you without any difficulty.

    You should write down and keep your application number for later use.

    When you have problems with the application at the website, you should contact the

    service provider with the following contact information.

    Notes for Document Submission

    All documents should be original copies. When written in a language other than Korean or English, the

    documents should be translated into either Korean or English and notarized by the government of yourcountry or the Korean embassy in your country.

    When you submit photocopies of original documents, you should also submit Apostille or notarization issued

    by your government or the Korean embassy in your country.

    Applicants whose master's degree has been (is going to be) awarded by Pusan National University do not need

    to submit bachelor's degree certificate and transcript (All other required documents should be submitted.).

    Please note that there is some difference in the required documents according to the type of basic

    qualification( Both of your parents are foreign nationals, You completed your entire education abroad).

    You have to prepare a separate set of documents for visa application according to the requirements of the

    Korean government.

    Note 2Degree Certificates

    If you have not received the degree required for application yet, you have to submit the certificate that

    indicates that you are expected to receive the degree before the start of the program you applied for or

    the certificate of enrollment in the current degree program. You have to submit the degree certificate no

    later than 15 days after the start of the program at PNU. If you do not submit the degree certificate by

    the deadline, your admission shall be canceled.

    If you receive(d) your degree from abroad, you have to submit Apostille or verification by the government of

    the country where the university is located or by the Korean embassy in the country along with your degree

    certificate no later than 15 days after the start of the program at PNU.

    If you receive(d) your degree from a Chinese university, you should obtain and submit the verification

    at the web site of China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center(www.cdgdc.edu.cn) or

    at the website of China Higher-education Student Information(www.chsi.com.cn).

    Note 3 Proof of Language Proficiency

    Applicants who are currently enrolled in the 3rd grade language program at the PNU

    International Language Education Institute should submit the certificate of enrollment during

    the application period and the certificate of completion by May 9, 2014 (if not, the

    application is disqualified.).

    Even when you do not have a language test score, you can apply if you obtain language

    requirement exemption letter from the head of the department you apply for or from the

    supervisor you will study under.Form 4

    Note 4A certificate of family relation should include all of the following.

    Parents' names which are identical with the ones on the certificate of nationality.

    National ID numbers or birth dates which are identical with the ones on the certificate of nationality.

    9. Important Notes

    All important notices regarding this admission(including application results) will be posted on Graduate/

    International Students Menu at www.go.pusan.ac.kr.

    When you do not submit some of required documents, make errors on or do not provide some required

    information in the application form, provide unclear address, are unreachable, do not check the application

    results and/or do not take required steps for entry to Korea, you may suffer some disadvantages that may

    amount to cancelation of admission. In these cases, you yourself are solely responsible for all the consequences.

    When it turns out that you have obtained the admission through felony such as forgery, doctoring or

    mistranslation of required documents, your admission shall be canceled even after you start studying

    and all your study records shall be erased even when you have already graduated. In addition, you will

    be charged with criminal offences by our university according to relevant Korean laws.

    All newly admitted foreign students should buy a travel insurance plan that pays up to USD 10,000 or

    more to cover medical costs for injuries and diseases.

    All submitted documents shall not be returned whether your application is successful or not.

    When your application is successful, you have to submit the official government verification of your

    degree (e.g., : Apostille, Notarization by Embassy). Otherwise, your admission shall be canceled.

    All the other issues that are not clearly indicated in these guidelines shall be handled according to the

    admission procedures and regulations of our university.

    Cancellation of registration and refund of tuition fees shall be handled according to our university's

    policy and regulations on tuition payment.

    10. Tuition Fees

    The fees are for the Spring semester of academic year 2014 and can be subject to the Fall semester, 2014.

    11. Scholarship for International Students

    Half of the University Support Fee for the first semester shall be exempted for all newly admitted foreign students.

    From the second semester on, half of the University Support Fee shall be exempted for foreign students

    who have achieved 3.5 or above in G.P.A. in the immediately preceding semester. (Full mark is 4.5.)
