In order to participate each team needs a coach. Consider signing up as a volunteer coach. All coaches must be willing to submit to a background check and fingerprinting. For more information, visit www.mocorec.com or call 240-777-6870.

Individuals, at least 16 years of age, are needed to officiate games in grade 3-4 leagues on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Salary is determined by previous referee experience and education. Officiating training is provided in late November and early December. For more information, call the sports office at 240-777-6870.

We encourage all players to play at their current grade level. However, a player or team may play up one grade level (for example a third grader could play at the fourth grade level). Players cannot play down a grade. Jewelry may not be worn during games. Jerseys are provided for each player and must be worn during games. Jerseys may not be altered. Teams may have no more than two players on their roster who participate on any select team, including Rising Stars (MCPS middle school players exempt). Registering as an individual:Players who register as individuals will be assigned to teams as space allows. Placement of individuals is contingent on sufficient registrations to form a team and recruitment of a volunteer coach. After teams have been formed, coaches will contact players before the first session of the season to confirm location and time of practices. Please be sure we have your most current contact information.

Registering a Pre-formed Team: Coach’s must visit www.mocorec.com to download the coaches’ packet. Coaches must submit a team roster. Parents of the individual players must register online or submit a registration form with payment. Each player should list the coach’s name when they register. MCR reserves the right to add players to rosters with less than the maximum number of players.

Full payment must be made at time of registration. Do not submit registrations and/or payments toRecreation instructors. For Montgomery County Recreation activities, noncounty residents must pay an additional $15 per activity per participant. Make checks and money orders payable to ActiveMONTGOMERY. Checks and money orders must include name, address, and telephone number. If your check is returned unpaid, your account will be debited for the original check amount, and electronically or via paper for the state’s maximum allowable service fee. Payment by check constitutes authorization of these transactions.You may revoke your authorization by calling 800-666-5222, ext. 2 to arrange payment for any outstanding checks and service fees due. Please allow two weeks to receive a refund by check.Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. Registration form must include correct credit card number, expiration date, authorized signature and authorized total amount. Montgomery County Recreation reserves the right to pursue all available options to collect any funds owed as a result of a dishonored check or credit card, charges incurred due to unsubstantiated credit card disputes, or any outstanding debt.

You may only withdraw from an activity before the day of second (2) activity session, and in most circumstances, will be entitled to receive a pro-rated credit to your ActiveMONTGOMERY account or a refund. No credit or refund will be issued for activity sessions missed by the participant or after the second (2) session is held. Material fees are not refundable for withdrawal requests received less than 5 days before the start date of the class.

NOTE: Withdrawal and refund policies pertain to all Recreation activities, unless otherwise noted in the activity description. Please read the activity description carefully as some activities have specific withdrawal policies, which limit when withdrawal may take place and/or whether any credit or refund will be applied; these activities have refund/withdrawal policies that supersede our standard policy.

The amount credited or refunded is based on the number of activity sessions remaining when your withdrawal request is received. Refunds may be applied to your ActiveMONTGOMERY account; or returned to you in the same form as payment was rendered. NOTE: All cash payments will be refunded to you by check.
