What is the College Readiness Assessment ? The CRA is a self-analysis tool that will assist secondary schools in assessing their college readiness academic programs in five key areas. The CRA is a tool that schools can use to help create goals, prioritize action items, and evaluate efforts to support a strong post secondary culture.

20. Why CRA? GPISD chose to implement the process for the following reasons: To assist our schools in increasing the number of students prepared to enter and be successful in college and postsecondary careers To confirm that our school offers a course of study designed to prepare students for their future To allows all stakeholders to collectively review the college prep efforts and design a strategic plan for enhancement

21. Who is involved? Principals assembled their CRA Research Teams to collect the necessary data and documentation required to complete the 5 sections of the CRA Scorecard. Data Administrative Processes Teacher Support Student Participation Parent/Community Support

22. The CRA Scorecard All questions have yes or no answers, and some require supportive documentation. The threshold percentages in the DATA section are based on the latest research and best practices from programs with proven results. Nine bonus questions are presented at the end of the scorecard. They are considered elements that enrich your program and will supplement your total score.

23. The CRA Scorecard Results CRA creates a CRA SCORECARD for each school. CRA Scorecard Results Possible Points Data 40 Administrative Processes 20 Teacher Support 20 Student Participation 10 Parent/Community Support 10 Bonus (9 points) Total College Readiness Score 100

24. IF SCHOOL SCORES 85 OR ABOVE Request CRA Validation Team CRA consultants will make a site visit to the school to verify the accuracy of the data collected. The documentation notebook must be sent to CRA personnel prior to visit. Apply for CRA College Readiness Designation Once accuracy is verified, the school is eligible to receive designation as a CRA Campus. Action Plans Each campus will be responsible for developing an action plan designed to improve its college ready culture.

25. IF A SCHOOL SCORES 84 OR BELOW Study, Access & Prioritize School research teams may use multiple resources to improve its program including those provided by CRA. Action Plans Each campus will be responsible for developing an action plan designed to improve its college ready culture.

26. Our CRA Implementation Process School research teams collected and gathered the data. Schools had approximately three (3) weeks to complete the CRA Scorecard Worksheets. Campuses delivered all CRA documents to the Executive Director of Post Secondary Readiness. After reviewing campus documentation The Executive Director of Post Secondary Readiness submitted all completed school scorecards to the CRA website.

27. CRA COMMENTARY & STRATEGIES The CRA Scorecard results were sent to each school, the Executive Director of Post Secondary Readiness, and the Superintendent. The results included CRA Commentary and Strategies on low scoring items. These strategies as well as the supportive documents below were used to assist in designing a focused action plan that will be included in the campus improvement plan.
