Task Task Task Task
Today we are going to be practising making
inferences. What is an inference? An
inference is when you figure out something
that wasn’t explained in the text.
We use:
Today you will need to look for the key words
and clues to help you make an inference.
Watch this video lesson which explains how
to complete today’s task.
You will access your task today by clicking on
the following link.
Read each section carefully and then answer
the questions by inferring.
Today we will be looking at different features
of grammar from a short passage. Read the
passage and questions from Grammar Study
prompt. Complete your answers in full RACES
form including the questions in your
response.
Hints to help:
Synonym = means a word that means the
same.
Antonym = means opposite
Suffix = is added to the end of a word to
change the meaning of the word.
Multiple meaning = a word that can have
more than one meaning depending on how
it’s used.
Infer = think they mean?
When you have answered each of the
questions, create a short piece of writing that
runs on (continues) from where this sentence
has begun. Think about the characters,
setting and action that has been started.
Assignment Alert: This task must be
uploaded and submitted on the Assignments
tab in MS Teams Click this video to see how.
We are looking at the Order of operations
and how to apply them. When given an
equation that has more than 1 operation
there is a set order we need to work out the
answer.
Step 1 – Any operations in Brackets.
Step 2 – Order/Indices this includes powers
and square roots
Step 3 – Multiplication & Division
Step 4 – Subtraction & Addition
Whenever there are 2 operations from the
same step we work from left to right in the
equation.
Watch this video to see how to apply each
step of BODMAS to an equation.
The Resilience Project: Emotions Are
Essential
Today we will be learning about why it is so important to share our emotions, and how we can encourage young people to share their emotions. Watch this video about where our emotions come from and how they influence our behaviour. Note: We will be discussing these in our Class Call today, so make sure you are ready to share your responses: - - How can one emotion sometimes lead to
another?
- Why is it a bad idea to ‘bottle up’ your
emotions?
- Who can we share our emotions with and
why is it a hard thing to do?
Use this template from your Student Journal to create an Advertising Campaign about to encourage people your age to share their emotions. You might like to draw a billboard or poster on your template, or create a plan for an ad that could get shown online.
To view a worked variety of BODMAS
questions look on this website.
Complete today’s main task working each
step following the correct order of
operations.
Too hard? Too hard? Too hard? Too hard?

Your teacher will tell you to complete this
task today so that it is appropriately

Join into your class’s early call to go through
the questions and identify possible answers. Complete your writing using at least one part
of the original sentence.
Watch this video to see how to apply each

Complete the too hard task and if confident complete the remaining 2 questions from the main task.
Use the template to create a poster that will
encourage people your age to share their
emotions. You can do this on paper if you
have materials at home, or on MS Paint if you
