In Mr. Millette’s basket at the super market there are 6 apples, 24 oranges, and 18bananas.

Write the ratio of the number of apples to the number of oranges.

b) Write the ratio of the number of apples to the number of bananas.

c)

Calculate the unit rate for the ratio of the number of apples to the number of

oranges.

d)

Calculate the unit rate for the ratio of the number of apples to the number ofbananas.

e)

Is the amount of oranges per apple greater, or is the amount of bananas perapple greater?



There are 4 oranges for every apple, and there are 3 bananas for every apple.So, there are more oranges per apple than bananas per apple.

Multiplying With Decimals.

Multiply according to the given instructions.

a) Solve using any method: 36.3 • 52.4

12.6 • 100 = 12 • 100 + 0.6 • 100 = 1,200 + 60 = 1,260

Dividing With Decimals

Divide the following by first converting the division problem to a fraction, and thenconverting the fraction to another equivalent fraction in order to eliminate the decimal points in the numerator and denominator.
