Psalm 130From the depths of woe I raise to Thee

a voice of lamentation. Lord, turn a gracious ear to me

and hear my supplication. If Thou iniquities dost mark,

our secret sins and misdeeds dark, O who shall stand before Thee?

Page 11: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

To wash away the crimson stain, grace, grace alone availeth.

Our works, alas, are all in vain; in much the best life faileth.

No man can glory in Thy sight, all must alike confess Thy might,

and live alone by mercy.

Page 12: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Therefore my trust is in the Lord, and not in mine own merit. On Him my soul shall rest;

His word upholds my fainting spirit. His promised mercy is my fort,

my comfort, and my sweet support. I wait for Him with patience.

Page 13: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

What though I wait the live-long night and ‘til the dawn appeareth,

my heart still trusteth in His might; it doubteth not nor feareth.

Do thus, O ye of Israel’s seed, ye of the Spirit born indeed, and wait ‘til God appeareth.

Though great our sins and sore our woes, His grace much more aboundeth. His helping love no limit knows;

our utmost need it soundeth. Our Shepherd good and true is He,

who will at last His people free from all their sin and sorrow.

How Great Thou ArtO Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder,Consider all the works Thy hands have made,

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,Thy power throughout the universe displayed;

Page 17: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

Page 18: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

And when I think that God, His Son not sparingSent Him to die, I scarce can take it in

That on the cross, my burden gladly bearingHe bled and died to take away my sin

Page 19: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come with shouts of acclimation,And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!

Then I shall bow in humble adoration,And there proclaim, My God, how great Thou art!

1 Peter 4Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

Jesus, I My Cross Have TakenJesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow Thee.

Destitute, despised, forsaken, Thou from hence my all shall be.

Page 25: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Perish every fond ambition, All I’ve sought or hoped or known.

Yet how rich is my condition! God and heaven are still mine own.

Page 26: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Let the world despise and leave me, They have left my Savior too

Human hearts and looks deceive me,Thou art not like them untrue

Page 27: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

O while thou dost smile upon me,God of wisdom, love and might

Foes may hate and friends disown me, Show thy face and all is bright

Page 28: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Man may trouble and distress me, ’twill but drive me to Thy breast.

Life with trials hard may press me;Heav’n will bring me sweeter rest.

Page 29: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Oh, ’tis not in grief to harm meWhile Thy love is left to me;

Oh, ’twere not in joy to charm me, were that joy unmixed with Thee.

Page 30: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

Go, then, earthly fame and treasure!Come, disaster, scorn and pain!In Thy service, pain is pleasure;

with Thy favor, loss is gain.

Page 31: Grace Upon Grace In every station new trials and troubles call for more grace than I can afford

I have called Thee, “Abba, Father”;I have set my heart on Thee:

Storms may howl, and clouds may gather, all must work for good to me.
