Well, it’s the LOVE month. Valentine’s day is around the corner and some of you are trying to get

up the nerves to send that special someone a “BE MINE” valentine, while some of you are pray-

ing that you will receive a valentine from that special someone. How sweet! Crazy isn’t it how

we use the word love so nonchalantly? We love our girl or guy, we love chocolate, we love Jesus.

Remember, Jesus doesn’t want to be on your compilation list of things you love. He wants, de-

serves, and demands to be your one true love. In Revelation 2:4 He says, “But I have this one

thing against you, that you have left your first love.” Don’t cheapen the love He has for you or the

love that you should demonstrate towards Him.

Love ya! (more than Oreos but not as much as Jesus)

Hi Everyone! Well, the children's department has some exciting news! We are going to offer a daily Bible reading that will take your child completely through the New Testament in one year! It is small enough that it hopefully wont be overwhelming. It will include a time of prayer and a service goal for the day. Why these three things? These are what define us at the very root of our Christianity. Are we hearing from God, and learning and growing closer to Him through His Word? Are we in real prayer, not just going through the motions prayer, with Him daily? And are we serving? Are we producing fruit from our proverbial Christian limbs? My hope is that those children who do not know the Lord, will find Him as they read through the scriptures. As for the children that do know the Lord, this will build on the relationship that the Lord wants us to have with Him. Let's face it, we are all busy. Kids seem busier then ever, but this is the most important thing. While this isn't all that needs to be done, or could be done each day, it is definitely a standard to set up as the minimum to shoot for. It is Monday through Friday. If they miss a day in the week, they can make it up on the weekend. If you don't have a daily time with the Lord set up for your child, check this out! If you do, see if this can help in any way. Your feedback is welcome! Also, I am curious to who actually reads this. If you read this, will you send a note to [email protected]? It doesn't have to be much, maybe just two words, "I did." I am also planning on trying to put this daily practice on facebook in a closed group for parents. If we are not friends on facebook let me know. My name on facebook is actually Charles Peltonen, (I go by my middle name) let me know who your child is too, so I can put an adult face with the kiddo! Well, pray for this. If we can even get just a couple kids doing this, it will have a tremendous impact on their life, I believe that with my whole heart! Love you all very much, Mitch
