They removed 4 cubic yards of dirt and grass outside the school office and
replaced it with decomposed granite! They also painted 123 poles throughout
the campus and pulled weeds!

The GCS teachers and staff would like to send out a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the PST members for spoiling us during Teacher Appreciation Week. You were so generous with your time and talents. The Taco lunch was enjoyed by all…as were the sweet treats and coffee. And everyone will be driving sparkling clean cars thanks to the gift certificates we all received. But that
wasn’t al! We have all been blessed and will continue to be reminded of how you showered us with kindness and love as we
watch our plants grow and enjoy our movie night! You may think GCS has the best teachers…but GCS knows that we also have
the best PST.
And then on top of all of this so many of you blessed your classroom teachers with all sorts of treats and special attention
that truly made them feel appreciated and treasured!

Many of our talented piano and guitar students who take private lessons with Mrs. Cabrera
performed in an end of the year recital. It was so wonderful to see how much they have learned this year and all that they can now do!
It was quite bright on campus during
the May Spirit day… it was

Kindergarten is an eventful year full of firsts!
To celebrate this year, the Kindergarteners invited
their families to celebrate at the
Kindergarten Tea… with a little help from PST.
Students sang the Grace Christian School song… all about how GCS has
been a place where they have learned to live, give,
share and care!
Families were spoiled with all kinds of delicious treats
and had some good ol’ silly fun at the photo booth.

All of our students at GCS are unique and have been gifted by God with amazing talents. Each year, we take time to recognize each student for a particular character trait that is evident in his or her everyday behavior and interactions. This month we honored students whose last names begin
with the letters H through M. Thanks to all of you who were able to come out and make it a special day.
We were blessed to have the team from Seacoast Church Children’s Ministry in Chapel with us this month. Their message was one of
DETERMINATION…deciding it’s worth it to finish what you started. They shared the Bible story of Cornelius…and finished with giving students the bottom line…keep going even when the job is bigger than you think – don’t forget to pray for determination and
tell everyone about Jesus!
Our very own Andrew Cline, or Mr. C as the students know him as, shared with students in Chapel. Not
only is he part of the Daycare staff at GCS, but he is also works with Junior High and High School
students at his church and is graduating this month from the Talbot School of Theology at Biola
University. He read from the Bible about the sins of Adam and Eve and how their response to their sin
was to hide and blame others. But that is not what God wanted, and is not what God wants from us when we do naughty things. Be honest in your
prayers with Him…He loves you and wants to hear from you. He can handle any troubles you may have!

3rd graders extended their study of space by visiting the
Tessman Planetarium at Santa Ana College.
1st graders invited
dads, grandpas, uncles,
and special guests for a
morning of sawing,
hammering, sanding,
and power tools. Not
sure who had the most
fun…the students or
the grow-ups!! Be sure
to stop by the
classrooms during
Open House to see the
creations they
constructed!

Cub Scout Pack 611 would like to extend a great big thank you to all of you who supported the
scouts by participating in the taco dinner fundraiser! And we would like to thank you…Cub Scout Pack 611 for preparing and cooking such delicious meals, and giving families a night off from cooking and an
opportunity to eat and visit with the school family.
What an amazing evening to celebrate a fantastic year! Our student’s talents were
showcased and they were able to share, with family and
friends, their classrooms filled with projects they had worked
on throughout the year. There were also performances
from our instrumental and choir groups, as well as some
truly spectacular items up for auction.

As you are aware from the email sent home, we held an earthquake drill this month in an effort to continue to ensure the safety of each and every student on this campus as this is
of utmost importance to us.
This drill lasted approximately one hour. It allowed our students a chance to practice
what they need to do in the event of a real earthquake,
and allowed teachers and staff an opportunity to put into practice skills they have learned
throughout various training sessions. We were able to deploy our search and rescue
team as well as put a medical and triage team in place.
