The 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition is fast approaching, and Theme & Variations Piano Services are proud to once again donate a Boston grand piano to the competition to be given away to an Australian school as part of the ABC’s national ‘Grab theGoanna’ competition.

We will also be running our own ‘Grab the Goanna’ colouring in competition in NSW and QLD, where our winner will receive the use of a Boston grand piano at their school for two weeks - a prize valued at $2,750.00!

To enter into the competition, simply print out and distribute the attached ‘Mr Steinway,Take a Bow’ poster to your students. Students can colour in and decorate the poster, and need to tell us the three piano brands in the family of Steinway designed pianos.

Make sure that your students fill out their name, and of course, your school!

Our goanna 'Mr Steinway' and his Steinway & Sons grand piano were created by Rod Allen, a comic book illustrator in Sydney NSW, creator of the Agents of T.R.U.T.H. action comic book series.

To enter, simply colour in Mr Steinway and his Steinway & Sons piano, and answer the trivia question. Then, post your entry to Theme & Variations Piano Services. Entries will be judged on creativity and style in three categories:

A) Kindergarten to Year 2 B) Years 3-4 C) Years 5-6

Entries Close: 5PM, Monday 16th July 2012

The overall winner and the winner from each category will be announced on the Theme & Variations Piano Services website on Monday 23rd July 2012.

Prize Details:

A trophy will be given to the winner from each of the three

categories, and the overall winner will be awarded the

major prize of a Boston Baby Grand Piano for a two week

loan at your school. Total prize value is $2,750.00 which

includes hire fee, delivery, pick-up, tuning and insurance.

Dates for delivery of prize to be agreed between

Theme & Variations Piano Services and the winner’s school.

Perhaps your school has a concert or special event where

the piano could feature? Each entry must be signed by a

teacher from the school and a parent/guardian.

The outcome and running of this competition is independent

of ABC Classic FM and the Sydney International Piano

Competition (SIPCA). The judge’s decision is final and no

correspondence will be entered into.
