selection, trials and competition for men & women

Achievements
Conducted Karnataka University’s Weight Lifting & Body Building team
selection, trials and competition for men & women on 29th & 30th Oct. 2011
A new PG course, MA in Kannada has been introduced from this year
Infosys and Wipro (Wista / Wase ) has conducted a campus selection drive for
final year students and 19 students got selected

1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution
Giving scope to extracurricular activities to inculcate cultural heritage of this
area
Conducting regular selections in all types of major & minor games to extract
the hidden talent of the sports person to improve his physical and mental health and to achieve the goal.

B.Sc. first semester syllabus for Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry has been
reformed as per University guidelines

Along with the internal assessment tests and assignments, prescribed by the
University, some departments are conducting surprise tests, quiz etc as a part of regular evaluation process, and the progress of the student is documented.

Rally on 1.12.2011 and National Voters Day celebration Rally on 25.1.2012,

NSS volunteers participated in Beach cleaning program on 17.9.2011 as a part
of World Beach Cleaning Day celebration
NSS unit of college organised annual camp at Kadwad, a nearby village, from
21.12.2011 to 26.12. 2011
On 12.01.2012 college Students & staff along with NSS Unit and Red Cross
Youth wing celebrated “Swami Vivekanand Jayanthi” and participated in the
rally.
On 05.02.2012 NCC cadets organised an Adventure & Environmental
Trekking to Kalase, a village nearby.

29. Activities and supports from alumni association & Parent - Teachers Association:
Parent meet was held to obtain the feedback from the parents.
30. Health services: Red Ribbon Club of College NSS unit organised two days AIDS awareness programme
from 21.01.2012 to 22.01.2012 for NSS volunteers, which included essay writing,
skit, poster making competitions, lectures and rally
College Red Cross unit & NSS unit together organised a blood donation and blood
grouping camp on 14.02.2012. Ten male and five female students donated blood and
blood grouping of 220 students has been done.
31. Performance in sports activities:
Four of our students, Mamata Naik, Asma Sattar, Silviya Naik and Chaitra
Naik have secured Gold medal in Karnataka University single zonal Weight Lifting competition for women
Two boys, Raghavendra Naik and Raghavendra Sirsikar have secured Gold
medal in Karnataka University single zonal Weight Lifting competition for men.
Raghavendra Naik got silver medal in Karnataka University single zonal Body Building competition for men
Miss Silpa Kotharkar has got Gold medal and our boys team has won silver medal in Karnatak University intercollegiate athletics meet.
Miss Seema Gouda won fourth place in javelin throw at state level women sports meet
32. Students achievements and awards:
NCC cadet Padmaj Kalgutkar represented Karntaka state at Nav Sainik Camp”
held at Vishakapatanam
Cadet Subhod Singh participated in IGC & IDC camps at Bangalore
Our NCC unit bagged the championship at annual training camp held from 4th
to 13th September 2011
Three NCC cadets participated in national level trekking camp, two cadets
participated in “Rashtreeya Bhavaikyataa Shibir” held at Rajasthan and two
cadets participated in leadership camp held at Tamilnadu.
Two girls have secured 100%(150/150) marks in Mathematics in University
examination

departmental associations: Career guidance & counseling cell organised one day workshop on “Spoken English
for Indians” on 30.10.2011 and a workshop on “Future prospects for our graduates”
on 29.02.2012 for final year students
On 03.03.2012 Career guidance & counseling sell conduced a training programme on
MBA entrance examination
Women cell of the college had arranged lecturers on “Women Rights” and “Women
Health” and also conducted competitions for women students on the eve of
International women’s day on 8th March 2012
