PROCLAMATION
IMMIGRANT HERITAGE MONTH
June 2015
WHEREAS, America is a nation of immigrants and our cultural diversity is one of our
country’s greatest strengths; and
WHEREAS, throughout our nation’s history, immigrants have come to America to
build a better life for themselves and their families, and their many contributions have
strengthened the American economy and workforce; and
WHEREAS, the ideals of freedom, democracy, peace, stability and human rights have
forged a close bond between the citizens and immigrants of our nation; and
WHEREAS, millions of immigrants have provided the cultural diversity that has made
the United States a unique nation; and
WHEREAS, immigrants in Pennsylvania have played a significant role in the
development of our Commonwealth and Pennsylvania is proud of the many contributions
these individuals have made to our Commonwealth.
THEREFORE, I, Tom Wolf, Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, do
hereby proclaim June 2015 as IMMIGRANT HERITAGE MONTH. I encourage all citizens
to recognize the accomplishments of immigrants both past and present and to reflect upon the
importance of diversity and opportunity in the Commonwealth and across the nation.

twenty-seventh day of May in the Year of our Lord
