• regulating of active protection measures and space utilization structure with the aim of quality management and habitat improving
Development of Ecological Network for the Sava River
• Integrated Transboundary River Basin Management Plan for the Sava River (2004-2005)
• Ecological Network for the Sava River – 8 significant areas (2005-2006)
• The Sava River Floodplain Biodiversity Conservation (2006-2009)
EMERALD Ecological Network
• establishment of the Emerald Network in Serbia - based on the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Berne Convention)
• 61 potential Emerald areas in the Republic of Serbia
• representing 11.48%% (1 0142 86.87 ha.87 ha) from total area of Republic of Serbia (8 836 100 ha)
• most of the selected areas already have protection status at national and international level
Developement of a Carpathian Ecological Network
Project Objective:Provide support to the implementation of the Carpathian Convention through the development and implementation of a coherent transboundary ecological network as part of sustainable development of the Carpathians. (www.carpates.org/cbis_ec.html)
Pan-European Ecological Network in South Eastern Europe
(PEEN – SEE project)
Contours of the PEEN – SEE which identifies core nature areas of European importance, existing corridors between these areas and new corridors that could and should be established to meet the connectivity requirements of key species .
Dinaric Arc Initiative (DAI)
• accepted by Ministry of Environmental Protection (Serbia) at the 9TH Conference of the Parties to the CBD (COP 9)
• the goal: recognize achievements of governments of Dinaric Arc countries in building a viable and representative protected areas network and provide a platform for future engagement of donors in fulfilling national commitments towards implementation of the CBD.
