Rabi rice Panicle initiation stage
As insufficient rain is expected, irrigate and maintain round 5 cm of water during this stage Current weather is congenial for multiplication of stem borer population. Avoid application of granular insecticide at P.I. stage and spray Fipronil@2ml/litre or [email protected]/litre of
water to control stem borer. At panicle initiation stage, apply 25% N as second top dressing.
Groundnut The crop is at pegging stage.
Current weather favours attack of thrips. To control it spray Imidacloprid @50ml/acre in 200 litres of water. Due to abrupt rise in temperature during last week with higher relative humidity, the Tikka disease may appear at
this stage. Spray Carbendazim 12%+ Mancozeb63%[email protected] gram per litre of water and repeat it after 15 days. Summer pulses Current fluctuation in maximum and minimum temperature will build up the white fly population causing YMV
disease. Use yellow sticky traps to monitor the population of white fly. If the white fly population is more, then spray Thiomethoxam 25WG @ 60g/acre. Current weather condition is favourable for attack of pod borer in green gram and black gram. Spray
Profenofos@400ml/acre to control it.
Vegetables Current weather is favourable for attack of fruit fly in cucurbits. Following integrated management is necessary to adopt. - Install cuelure for mass trapping of the insects. - Go for placement of poison baits and spraying of solution made with 2g Cartap hydrochloride+100g gur per
litre of water. Fruit and shoot borer in Brinjal and Okra- Spray Neem based formulation 1500ppm@600ml/acre at initial
stages. Later on go for alternate spray of Spinosad 45%SC@70ml/acre and Thiodicarb@300g/acre at 15 days interval
Mite problem will aggravate in Brinjal under present weather condition. Spray Propargite@ 400ml/acre to control it.
Current weather favours spread of YMV in Ladies finger. In case of appearance of diseases, rogue out affected plants and spray Thiomethoxam 25WG @ 60g/acre.
Now-a-days due to attack of Thrips in Chilli crop, there is curling of leaves and stunting of plant growth. To control the pest, spray Imidacloprid @0.5 ml/l of water.
Pisciculture Maintain average water depth at 5ft level in the pond. Feed fishes with oil cake: bran mixture at 2% of their body weight daily. Start partial harvesting of fishes above ABW 750g.

Partly Cloudy weather during this week favours the infestation of aphid in beans. Spray 2 ml Dimethoate or Methyle demeton per litre
water. Rain likely to occur -Drain out excess water form the paddy, non-paddy nursery field and recently transplanted rice field and non-paddy field.Drain out excess water from the vegetable nursery and cover it with polythene. Store the harvested paddy in a safer place (properly stacked with suitable cover) to avoid damage due to untimely rain. Pick up flowers such as rose, mariogiold and chrysanthemum etc. to avoid quality loss due to rain. Go for harvesting of vegetables such as cole crops and leafy vegetables for better price.
Spraying or dusting of plant protection chemicals should be done in a clear weather condition and avoided in rainy days.
Increased temperature may favour the egg laying of stemborer in rice in the main field. To attract the butterflies, place 5 Pheromon Traps/acre, collect the adults and destroy them by burying under soil or by burning. Increased difference between daily maximum and minimum temperature may favour the infestation of blast in main field as well as in the nursery. Spray 1 g Beam in one litre water
Carry out spraying insecticides or pesticides in crops as per requirement on dry days.
Blast disease (Mahisa Roga) may occur in rice due to the rain. Trifloxystrobin25% + Tebuconazole50% @ 0.4 g per liter of water may be sprayed
Initial rising temperature is congenial for multiplication of stem borer population in rice crop.
Current weather is favourable for attack of fruit fly in cucurbits
In case of Rabi paddy, keep the rainwater in the field by making proper bonds
Harvest the cauliflower and cabbage if heads are ready to use to avoid discolouration and splitting, respectively.
VEGETABLES: Cloudy weather during this week favours the infestation of aphid in beans. Spray 2 ml Dimethoate or Methyle demeton per litre water. Increased humidity may favour the infestation of blight. Spray 20 g Copper Oxy chloride and along with 10 g Plantomycin in 10 litre water. To control hollow stem in cabbage and cauliflower, Apply recommended dust of Nitrogen fertilizer along with 4-6 kg of Borax/acre as basal. Or spray 1 g Beam (Alwar) in each litre water.
Soon after noticing the infestation of the stored grain, take up fumigation by using Aluminium phosphide (Do not use in dwelling houses) tablets @ of 3 tablets / ton grain (total 9 gm of tablets) in fairly air tight containers or by covering with thick tarpaulin leaving no gaps. The tablets should be wrapped in cotton pouches before placing them in the stacks, which helps to discard the remnants after completing the fumigation. All the corners of plastic cover should be plastered with 6 inch thick layer of mud/ sand snake/ adhesive tapes to prevent leakage of gas. Minimum exposure period is for about 7-10 days.
The current weather is favourable for infestation of fruit and shoot borer in brinjal. To control them, install Pheromone trap and spray 4
g Sevin WP or 2 ml Malathion in 1 litre water alternatively. To control root rot in pointed gourd. Spray 10 g Plantomycine along with 20 g Blitox 50 in 10 litre water. Thrips in Chilli has been found. Spray 300 ml Ethion or 400 ml Carbosulphan or Chloropyriphos in
200 litre water/acre eating
Aphid infestation in rapeseed and mustard, sunflower, groundnut, green gram and black gram may occur. Apply 50ml. Imidacloprid or

50g Acetamiprid in 200lt of water in case of crops are infested.
Stem and root rot in early sown ground nut. Apply 2g Carbendazim 50% WP per liter of water.
As the current weather condition is favourable for leaf blight infestation for above mentioned crops, apply 2g Carbendazim or 2g Carbendazim+ Mancozeb per liter of water.
Cloudy weather may aggravate the aphid infestation in pulses and mustard. Apply 4 ml Neem based pesticide or 2 ml Metasystox per each litre of water to control aphids. Pod borer has occurred in gram and pea, Spray 50 ml Imidacloprid or 400 ml Dimethoate or Metasystox in 200 litre water per acre.
Aphid infestation in rapeseed and mustard, sunflower, groundnut, green gram and black gram may occur. Apply 50ml. Imidacloprid or 50g Acetamiprid in 200lt of water in case of crops are infested
Spray plant protection chemicals along with sticker for better result
Due to rain, root and shoot rot disease may occur in early summer groundnut. Spray 1.5g Carbendazim 50% WP/litre of water after the rain.
CASHEWNUT: Occurrence of stem and root borer in cashew. Remove minimum width of the bark (only the damaged or tunneled portions) retaining at least 50% of the bark circumference. Inject 0.5% Monocrotophos@ 1ml per hole in the bore. The bore shall be plugged with cotton and wax. Moderate temperature increased the thrips population. Spray 2 ml Methile Dematon per each liter water. DRUMSTICK: Pod borer infestation is found in drum stick. Spray Cypermethrine @ 80 g a.i./acre at 15 days interval.
MANGO: Spray Imidacloprid (17.8 SL) @ 0.4ml/l and Hexaconazole 75WP @ 0.5 g/l or Dinocap 46 EC @ 1.0ml/l after fruit set (pea stage) ti manage hopper and powdery mildew, respectively. Spray NAA 20 ppm (Planofix @ 0.4ml/l) at marble stage to manage fruit drop. Foliar application of Dichlorovos @ 1.5ml/l at pea stage to mimnimise the incidernce of mango fruit borer. The chemical may also be sprayed on trunk and basin if damage of mango stone weevil was high in previous year. Avoid waterlogging around the tree.
Pisciculture:. Manage the feed for proper growth of fish. Also go for manuring.
Provide sufficient clean drinking water to animals. Temperature is rising; animals may preferably be grazed during early morning to avoid exposure to extreme hot conditions. Proper ventilation should be maintained for free circulation of air in the sheds.

General:
Plant protection measures may be taken up when weather becomes clean and dry, avoid in rainy days. In view of threat of Corona virus, measures of personal hygiene and social distancing to be followed by those engaged in
different farm operations. Farmers are advised to take adequate personal safety measures for loading and transporting of farm
produce and while participating in sale at market/mandi. Take up summer deep ploughing to destroy the eggs of insect pests and weed seeds.
Summer rice: Chances of blast infestation in rice, if observe spray Tricyclazole 75% WP @ 0.6 g/litre of water or Tebuconazole 50% +
Trifloxystrobin 25% WG @ 0.4 g/litre of water in clear and dry weather.
Chances of stem borer infestation, if observe spray Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC @ 0.3 ml/litre of water or Fipronil 5% SC
@ 2 ml/litre of water in clear and dry weather. Keep watch for brown plant hopper. If the incidence crosses the ETL (5-10 insects/hill), then spray to the base of rice plant
with Buprofezin 25% SC @ 25 ml/15 litre of water or Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 3 g/15 litre of water. Before spraying
remove water from the field.
Vegetables:
Due to variable weather farmers are advised to constant monitoring against attack of pest and disease in vegetable crop, if
symptom observed then take protection measures as per recommendation when sky remains clear. Present weather may aggravate fruit and vine rot (symptoms: leaf spot, leaf blight, stem rot, fruit rot) of pointed gourd. If
observe remove damaged fruit and vines from the field and should not be kept in and around the field. Spray alternately
Copper Oxychloride 50% WP @ 3 g/litre of water and Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% @ 2.5 g/litre of water in clear and dry weather.
Chances of thrips, aphid and mites infestation in vegetables, to control these spray Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 0.3 ml/litre of
water in clear and dry weather. Current weather may favours the spread of YMV in Bhindi. Vector of YMV is white fly. To control it spray Thiomethoxam
25% WG @ 0.2 g/litre of water.
Livestock:
Animals may preferably be grazed during early morning to avoid exposure to extreme hot conditions. Proper ventilation
should be maintained for free circulation of air in the sheds.
