Note :For Category : I

1. Those candidates who have passed M.Sc./Degree inEngg./AMIE/equivalent or are appearing for M.Sc./Degree inEngg./AMIE/equivalent (final year) will not be considered and hence

need not apply.

For Category : II

1. Those candidates who have passed B.Sc./Diploma inEngineering/AMIE/Degree in Engineering/equivalent or are appearingfor B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/AMIE/Degree inEngineering/equivalent (final year) will not be considered and hence neednot apply.

Age Limit :

1. 19 years (minimum) and 24 years (maximum) for Category I and 18 years(Minimum) and 22 years (maximum) for Category II as on 30.04.2010.

The upper age prescribed above is relaxable as under :

a) Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to SC/STcategory.

b) Upto a maximum of three years if a candidate belongs to OBCcategory.

c) For Persons with Disabilities [Applicable for Category No.I (postno.1& 3) and Category No.II (post no.4)] Upto a maximum of ten

years for general category candidates. Upto a maximum of thirteenyears for OBC candidates and fifteen years for SC/ST candidates.

Physical Standards : Minimum Height : 160 cms. Minimum weight : 45.5 Kgs.(Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)

Total Duration of Training :

For Category I : 1 (One) YearFor Category II : 2 (Two) Years

Stipend During Training :

For Category I : Rs.9,300/- p.m.For Category II : Rs.6,200/- p.m. for 1st year

: Rs.7,200/- p.m. for 2nd year

In addition to above, both Category I & II trainees will be entitled for a one timeBook Allowance of Rs.1,500/- for purchase of approved books pertaining totheir training course.

Accommodation : Accommodation will not be provided to the Category-I andCategory-II trainees and they will have to make their own arrangement for stayduring the entire period of training.

Written Examination : Written Examination of one-hour duration will beconducted and will comprise of objective type questions. Candidates should

come prepared to stay in Kolkata for the Written Test/Interview. The syllabusfor the said examination will be based on subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level (forCategory-I) and SSC/HSC/ITI level as the case may be for Category-II. Thosecandidates qualifying in the written Examination shall be short-listed forinterview on the following day.

Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of performance of thecandidates in interview and no weightage will be given for marks scored in the

written examination. The decision of this Centre in this regard is final.

Scope of Training : Selectedcandidates will be given training in the Centre invarious aspects of relevant trades, as per prescribed syllabi of each trade and

for meeting the stringent requirements of this Centre. The candidates will nothave choice/option for any particular training programme/training place.

The candidates may be required to work in round-the-clock shift, includingnight shift, during the period of training.

Grade After Successful Completion of Training :

Upon successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered forabsorption in one of the following grades depending on their performanceduring the period of training and interview to be held at the end of the training.Based on the performance during training, additional increments may be givenon appointment.

Bond : Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the trainingand serve VECC, Kolkata or any of the constituent Units of DAE, if offeredappointment after the training, for a period of 4 years after such appointment. Atrainee who fails to complete the training or serve the Government for 4 years, ifoffered appointment, will be liable to pay to the Government a sum equivalentto entire aggregate amount of stipend received by him during of training along

with interest thereon.

e) Discharge certificate from defence service (applicable to Ex-defencepersonnel only).

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT OF OH/VH/HH CERTIFICATE

i) According to the Persons With Disabilities (Equal Opportunities,Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Rules, 1996 notified on31/12/1996 by the Central Government in exercise of the powersconferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of Section 73 of the Persons with

Disabilities ((Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and FullParticipation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996), a disability certificate shall be issuedby a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or a StateGovernment. The Central/State Government may constitute a MedicalBoard consisting of at least three members, out of which, at least, onemember shall be a Specialist from the relevant field.

ii) The certificate would be valid for a period of 5 years for those whosedisability is temporary. The Medical Board shall indicate the period ofvalidity of the certificate where there are chances of variation in thedegree of disability. For those who acquired permanent disability, thevalidity can be shown as Permanent. On representation by theapplicant, the Medical Board may review its decision having regard to all

the facts and circumstances of the case and pass such orders in thematter as it thinks fit.

iii) Those SC/ST/OBC persons with disabilities selected on their own meritwithout relaxed standards alongwith other candidates, will be consideredagainst unreserved vacancies provided the post is identified for persons

with disability of relevant category.

NOTE :

a) SC/ST candidates called for written test/interview will be paid TravellingAllowance as per rules. However, Travelling Allowance is not admissibleto those SC/ST candidates who are already in service in Central/StateGovernment services, Central/State Government Corporation, PublicUndertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats.

b) Candidates selected against this advertisement will be trained at VECC,Kolkata. Upon successful completion of training, they are likely to beposted at VECC, Kolkata but are liable to serve in any part of India andin any constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy.

c) The vacancies shown above are provisional and subject to variation. Thefilling up of vacancies indicated in the advertisement is also subject tothe approval of Competent Authority and may not be filled up if decided

otherwise in terms of the orders issued from Government from time totime.
