The Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Three times in a year God commanded that the men of Israel were to appear before the Lord in Jerusalem (Ex. 23:14,17 Deu. 16:16)

Jonah spent three days and three nights in the fish

Jesus was in the tomb for 3 days

For where two or three are gathered in My name, there Am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20)

Getting to the Heart of the Matter

Mary is not the same woman who also wiped her hair on Jesus’ feet.

True worship is costly

A Triumphal Entry?

John 12:12-13: The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!”

Zechariah 9:9: Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

There Is No Difference Between Jew and Gentile

John 12:20-22: Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.” Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.

John 12:23: But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. (NKJV)

What Kind of “Life” Do You Want?

John 12:25-26: Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Mark 8:34: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Glorify Your Name?

John 12:27-30:  “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine.”

ConfusionJohn 12:31: Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.

John 12:32-34: And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die. The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
