GUM SKATING RINK Over the last ten years GUM Skating Rink has become one of the symbols of the winter’s capital. Every year millions of people find their pleasure in skating on the country’s Central Square surrounded by the historic backdrop of the Kremlin, overlooking the Spasskaya Tower, the Saint Basil’s Cathedral and GUM decorated with sparkling festive illumination. This season GUM Skating Rink is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until the end of winter to February 28. The new session is held every hour and a half and starts with the sound of the chiming clock of the Spasskaya Tower. GORKY PARK ICE RINK With the territory over 18 000 m2 Gorky Rink becomes one of the biggest and brightest all-weather ice rinks in Europe. The ice rink is installed every year in November; over 4000 visitors are able to skate at the same time comfortably. In all the pavilions of the ice rink visitors may rent the skates without a security deposit. The food court is located right on the park’s central alley where the visitors can warm selves up with hot coffee or tea and take a pleasant gastronomic break at park’s cafés and restaurants. The full variety of food is available around the rink (Mediterranean, Georgian and Spanish cuisines, traditional Russian pancakes and beverages, sandwiches, etc.). VDNH SKATING RINK The Main skating rink of the country is the name that was officially given to the rink in 2015 by the Russian Book of Records. No ice rink not only in our country but in the world can boast with such dimensions and rich infrastructure. The skating rink of VDNH actually has the area of more than 20 000 sq. m., the total area of the rink is 60 000 sq. m. 4,500 people can skate at the same time at the rink. The beginners are offered instructors’ help. Skates rentals at the rink of VDNH are free of charge. Ticket price is the same for those who take the skates for rent and for those who come with their own skates. The picturesque bridge decorated the rink just like the last year being the place for dating and selfie. © GUM
