What is Google Drive?

A service that provides access to office

productivity tools and sharing, much like

how Microsoft Office includes Word, Excel,

PPT and Outlook.

Microsoft One Drive and Google Drive are both cloud-based apps that allow you to:

• Access files anytime, anywhere on any device

• Sync files/pick up where you left off among devices

• Retain files if something happens to your device

• Send large files via link vs. attachment

• Do real-time collaboration (video)

• You can share Google Apps share via email, social media or link

• Google Apps saves 30 days worth of versions to view and restore

• Google Apps auto-saves so you can access the most up-to date version from any

device at any time.

• Both suitable for data protected by FERPA. Google Apps is not suitable for data

protected by HIPPA

• Google Apps have

less “power” features
