TermsSender – the person sending the message

Recipient – the person receiving the message

Internet – a global network of networks

Service Provider – provides software and server space to deliver and receive the message

Web-based – provides addresses to anyone for free as long as you have access to the Internet. Examples: Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail etc.

ISP (Internet Service Provider) – provides internet service plus several addresses for a fee. Examples: SBC Global and Comcast

Allows for a file to be sent

• PDFs • Audio files

• Image files (jpeg, gif, bmp etc)

Size LimitsAttachments being sent or received cannot

exceed the maximum limit offered by the service provider

ie. Yahoo email = 10 MB, Gmail = 25 MB
