Praise the Lord that they are asking for the materials! We also get many requests from non-SDA’s as well. The devil causes all sorts of turmoil in our lives and we can be very thankful that we are not in prison ourselves, but the day may be coming very soon. Hope International sends out Bibles, books, tracts and other Bible study helps and materials to prisoners all across the nation. Itwasabusymorning,about8:30,whenanelderlygentlemaninhis80’s,arrivedtohavestitchesremovedfromhisthumb.Hesaidhewasinahurryashehadanappointmentat9:00am.Itookhisvitalsignsandhadhimtakeaseat,knowingitwouldbeoveranhourbeforesomeonewouldtoabletoseehim.Isawhimlookingathiswatchanddecided,sinceIwasnotbusywithanotherpatient,Iwouldevaluatehiswound.Onexam,itwaswellhealed,soItalkedtooneofthedoctors,gottheneededsuppliestoremovehissuturesandredresshiswound.Whiletakingcareofhiswound,Iaskedhimifhehadanotherdoctor’sappointmentthismorning,ashewasinsuchahurry.Thegentlemantoldmeno,thatheneededtogotothenursinghometoeatbreakfastwithhiswife.Iinquiredastoherhealth.Hetoldmethatshehadbeenthereforawhileandthatshewas avictimofAlzheimer’sdisease.Aswetalked,Iaskedifshe

wouldbeupsetifhewasabitlate.Herepliedthatshenolongerknewwhohewas,thatshehadnot

recognizedhiminfiveyearsnow.Iwassurprised,andaskedhim,“Andyoustillgoeverymorning,eventhoughshedoesn’t

knowwhoyouare?”Hesmiledashepattedmyhandandsaid,“Shedoesn’tknowme,butI

stillknowwhosheis.”Ihadtoholdbacktearsasheleft,Ihadgoosebumpsonmyarms,andthought,“ThatisthekindofloveIwantinmylife.”

The Saviour loved dear Martha; the Bible tells us so:Although she envied Mary, Christ had something to show.

Our duties may distract us, and work may interfere:

Our business oft prevents us, agendas now to clear.

Take time to look to Jesus, and sit at His dear feet:

Forget those seeming pressures, and make your life complete.

The humble tasks do beckon, for help from other folks:But we should be more patient, before we have a stroke.

We dare not tell our Master, how He should solve our need:

He bids us let Him teach us; His words we ought to heed.

To spend more time (like Mary), His good part we may learn:

Then life will be more pleasant and take a sweeter turn.
