CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK!!

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK!!

In the United States, the “poverty threshold” is $19,090 for a household of 3 people. Currently, the minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.Would one parent working full time (40 hours a week) at a minimum-wage job provide a family of 3 enough money to be considered above the “poverty threshold”? Should the federal minimum wage be raised? Write a one-paragraph “letter” to a government official arguing your point. Provide an argument based on mathematical evidence. P.S., there are 52 weeks in a year.

CRITERIA FOR FULL CREDIT:1. Your response must be written in a letter format, with a proper greeting and signature.2. Your PARAGRAPH must be AT LEAST 5 sentences.3. You must provide mathematical proof, clearly explained in words, for your reasoning.4. The problem is handed in by Wednesday, April 3.
