Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the ser-vice of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sac-rifices. --President Harry S. Truman

The Honored by Albert Joseph Poe

They fought for our nation, for what they believed,

their love for our country, just never did leave

They served with great honor, in the face of dark fear;

they faced all the danger, though their end was soon near Many have moved on to Heaven,

to reap their Holy reward, although they have departed, they are still loved and adored

They are never forgotten, those who showed such bravery and grace,

they are our true Heroes, alive in our hearts’ warm embrace.

John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for

his friends."

As we celebrate Memorial Day, a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of our country, let us not forget to be thankful for their dedication and sacrifices for our freedom. Michelle Blatz Music/Liturgy Coordinator

Parish Office will be closed on Monday, May 25 in obser-

vance of Memorial Day.

RELIGIOUS ED NEWS JESUS & COMPANY

SURPRISE! - hurray, it happened! We were asked if we might want to continue with our Youth Masses through the summer which means we could have them year-round. We know we will need to talk about it but it sure is exciting to realize it can now finally happen. It may be a bit more diffi-cult to get all the positions covered during the months of summer due to jobs, vacations and whatever. But we have been geared for smaller numbers in the past and we could do it with fewer people if we really had to. There’s just a few minor details that need to be worked on and of course the final decision needs to be made by the group. But really, this is probably more than we have ever hoped for. EVERYONE seems to say that Memorial Day is the target date for planting flowers. Well….take a look at the calen-dar - and then take a look at the Mary Garden, yup it’s time! We keep writing about it every week but maybe it’s now time for us to really move on it. If you decide that you want to help with this one we have a long list of to-do’s and we can all be rather busy for several Wednesday nights (and beyond). Let’s all pray for a few more dry and warm Wednesday nights, OK? HERE WE ARE at that time of year again….graduation. Some from grade school, some from middle school, some from high school, and then some from college. And this always brings up the question we asked the older ones in past years - and again this year. “What do you want to be when you are finished with school?” We know there will be many different responses but the one we are really hoping to hear is “I want to be a follower of Jesus.” (we are on our way, Let’s keep it going). WE HAD OUR first experience with a small crowd in the room last week because of the various Awards Nights that are scheduled this month. It consisted mostly of the younger ones in the group and nothing changed. Instead of one big happy family we had one small happy family! It gets tougher when the Room fills up with ALL ages. That’s when we tend to separate by age and grade groups. We need to work on that to overcome the separation, OK? JESUS - you are on my mind and in my heart.
