On behalf of Good Design Australia, it gives me great pleasure to welcome

you to the 2015 Good Design Awards, Australia’s most prestigious Awards

for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1958.

The Awards celebrate the best in design, ingenuity and creativity.

Our mission through these Awards is to change the narrative

around how design can be used as a strategic tool to help create

better products, more user-centric services, better experiences

and spaces, more competitive businesses, a more inclusive

society and ultimately a more prosperous Australia.

There are seven main categories represented in the Good Design Awards,

including: Product Design, Service Design, Communication Design, Digital

Design, Architectural Design, Business Model Design and Social Innovation.

We are also delighted to have a stand-alone category to

recognise our future designers and innovators through the

Hills Young Australian Design Awards. This important category

shines a light on the next generation of design thinkers.

This booklet showcases the 2015 Good Design® Selection and Finalists in

the Hills Young Australian Design Awards and is a testament to the high

standard of design excellence represented in the Awards this year.

Good Design® Selection

Awarded to projects that, in the opinion of the judges have satisfied the criteria for good design. There is no limit to the number of Good Design® Selection accolades.

Good Design Award® for Sustainability

Awarded to an entry that represents the highest level of excellence in sustainable design practices and is limited to only one recipient that in the judge’s opinion, will have a positive impact in promoting excellence in sustainable design.

Good Design Award®

Awarded to projects that have not only met the criteria for Good Design® but exceed them. There is no limit to the number of Good Design Award® accolades.

Good Design Award® Best in Category

Represents the highest level of design excellence in a sub-category and represents best in class design. There is no limit to the number of Good Design Award® Best in Category accolades.

Good Design Award® of the Year 2015

The highest design honour bestowed in the Awards and is granted to only one overall winning product, service or project that represents ground breaking design at an international level. The recipient must surpass all design evaluation criteria and in the judge’s opinion, showcase absolute excellence in design at every level.

Good Design Award® Best Overall

Awarded to the best overall project in one of the seven main categories and represents the very highest level of design excellence in that design discipline. The Good Design Award® Best Overall is limited to only seven Awards.
