Summer is a great time to read for pleasure. In an effort to promote summer reading, Richmond Public Schools has teamed up with Richmond Public Libraries to make summer reading even more fun. Students are encouraged to read as many books as they would like either from the lists in this flyer or by making their own choices. In order to receive summer reading prizes, the following requirements must be met: School Library: To receive a prize from your school librarian in September, high school students are required to: • Read 700 minutes total from these lists

(authors, series or titles) or from their own choices during the summer;

• Complete the Summer Reading Form (which can be found at this address: http://tinyurl.com/richmondreads and

• Return it to the school librarian by September 12, 2014.

Public Library: Students can also choose to sign up for the public library’s summer reading program and complete the required minutes using books on this list. Those students who complete the task will earn a bag and a book.
