    The Rockrimmon Country Club facility in Stamford, Connecticut features 6,832 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.8 and it has a slope rating of 128. Designed by Orrin Smith and Robert Trent Jones Sr. the Rockrimmon golf course

    opened in 1949.

  • Following an extensive renovation the Stamford Family YMCA re-opened a year ago. The 143-year old Stamford landmark is steadily growing membership and programs through supporting the Ys core values of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

    The annual Stamford Family YMCA Golf FORE the Kids event supports the LEAD Academy program. LEAD is an after school program for grades K-12 that provides academic enrichment, tutoring, mentoring and life skills training. Reinforcing core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility.

    For grades K-5 the LEAD program focuses on homework assistance, academic enrichment, socialization and team building.

    LEAD middle school activities include tutoring, computer skills, snack, community service projects, mentoring, swimming, intramural sports, special events, field trips, nutritional health and fitness programs. The LEAD high school program strives to improve students grades, improve the opportunities to go onto college and prepare the student better as a future leader of the community.
