Well here we go. Now, I’m going to try my best not to lose you during this part of the story. Honestly,

there are days when I don’t completely understand it. As you remember, Kalana had difficulty

having children. The seventh generation heiress of the Goldweaver line had such a difficultpregnancy and delivery that she was forced to stay in the hospital. This left Toren in the position ofhaving to retake his seat as head of the council. Aiden proved to have quite a short fuse duringthose days.



Toren did his best to keep his son-in-law’s spirit up. But in truth Aiden wasn’t the only one suffering

from Kalana’s unexpected bad health. The entire family including Toren was suffering.



Kalana’s twin sister Xanthe was having the worst trouble adjusting to her sister’s condition. Matters

became worse for the family when Tristen’s health began to fail. With Aiden and Toren both out of

the house, the job of caring for Kalana and Aiden’s young sons fell primarily to Xanthe and

Rhiannon.



But Tristen proved that she had some fight left in her. The family had already begun to prepare itself for theworst losing a daughter and mother. But then miraculously one morning, Toren found Tristen in the nurserywith Athan. The doctor discovered that oddly Tristen had made a full recovery. All Tristen could rememberwas that the night before she’d had the strangest dream of a woman with silver hair and blue eyes. And that

there had been something oddly familiar about that face…though she couldn’t place it.



The doctor who came over to inspect Tristen was a new resident in Loros, Dr. Sun Liris. Dr. Liris wasplaced in charge of Kalana’s care by the newest hospital’s Matron Healer Arianna. Arianna and Dr.

Liris were both from Talon a land renowned for its healers and the legendary Liris family of whichSun was apart. Their arrival in Loros took us all by surprise. And this is where things getcomplicated. Try to keep up Aleron.



One afternoon Dr. Liris had gone to check on his patient, only to discover her lying dead uponthe floor. He had quickly summoned the Matron Healer into action.



“Wait a minute? That’s Arianna? But didn’t you say Tristen saw a woman with silver hair and blue eyes inher dream?”

“Yes, I did and this is the woman that saved Tristen’s life that night. Does she look familiar to you Aleron?

Because she should.”

“Yeah she does, but I can’t figure out who she is.”



“No way!”

“Yes way. Arianna is none other than Orianna Vijayakar daughter of Rhiannon Vijayakar and death. She

was meant to be the curse placed upon the family because of Toren’s actions in the war against Gal.

However, because Rhiannon never viewed her daughter as a curse, death decided to take Kalana’s life

instead. Even if we’d found a way to save Kalana, death would have taken one of the main line in

payment. At least he would have if not for the actions of his daughter.”



“As the daughter of death, Orianna Vijayakar was blest with several different abilities. The first was the ability to travel to theafterlife and the second was the ability to travel through time. Orianna wanted to lift the curse on the Goldweaver family, andso she agreed to move to the afterlife if her father would lift the curse from the family. Death agreed. However, death did notkeep his promise to his daughter and the curse remained on the family, but while Orianna was in the afterlife he accidently letslip the only way to lift th curse for good. Orianna then used her power to travel through time to stop her father and save thefamily once and for all.”



Orianna saved Iliris Goldweaver from dying during childbirth. Iliris was the twin sister of OlorosGoldweaver, Orianna then took up the charge of protecting Iliris and her family from her father. Usingher knowledge of the afterlife she was able to keep Iliris’ family from becoming cursed the way Oloros’

family had become.



Death was furious with Orianna, and so he stripped her of the ability to travel through time. Howeverto his surprise and dismay he could not strip his daughter of her immortality nor her ability to reachthe afterlife. In his anger, he turned Orianna’s once black hair silver white. It was Iliris who first called

her Arianna. which means silver. Ironically, Orianna, her given name means gold.



So Arianna had waited patiently for her time to come. And when her father tried to claim Kalana’s soul

Arianna gave chase. She informed her father that the Liris or Silver line was still going strong and thatSun Liris, was prepared to challenge death’s right to curse Oloros’ family.



Death reluctantly agreed to return to the mortal realm with his daughter. Sun Liris had to choosewhich hand death had hidden Kalana’s soul in order to reclaim her from the afterlife and remove the

curse from the Gold Line. Sun proved successful correctly selecting that Death had hidden her souldin his right hand.



“And so death returned Kalana to life and removed his curse from the Loros family. He returned to the

afterlife to rule over the dead until generation ten of both lines reached maturity. For at that time, hisdaughters would replace him. One is silver the other Gold. Orianna and Arianna.”



After returning Kalana home to her family, Arianna Vijayakar took her leave to return briefly to Talon tofetch her apprentice. She promised to return shortly so that she could continue to watch over the Lirisline. I would continue to watch over the Loros line with the help of my apprentice Orianna Vijayakar.For on the day that Kalana was returned from the afterlife the family name was changed to Loros.



“Okay so Orianna and Arianna are the same person even though one is forever old and the other is

forever young? That’s confusing!”

“Heh. Yeah. I know kid believe me I know. Well the family was ecstatic to hear that Kalana was

coming home. And no one was happier than Aiden and the boys.



“And Toren and Tristen couldn’t be prouder of their grand-daughter. Or grand-daughters really. Wellactually they were proud of all their grandkids.”

“Ya know what Ryker? Just can you keep telling the story. I’m getting a head-ache trying to keep theOrianna/Arianna…silver/gold thing straight.”



“Well aright. But you did need to know. I mean you might run into Arianna one of these days. So anyway.

Aiden was a wonderful father. But he was most certainly closest to his eldest Atticus.”



“Kalana moved home and got back into the swing of leading the council right off the bat. You have

to admit the girl had skillz.”



“Not that Aiden didn’t have any of his own He was now the leader of the police force and he’d

learned to fly. I’m not even going to try and explain that. But it’s not like I hadn’t seen the fella do

other stuff. I mean he could set trees on fire, cause earth-quakes…I guess he’s got a vampire in

the family somewhere.”



“Life went back to normal in Loros or as normal as life ever gets I suppose. Kalana’s businesses continued to

thrive, the Liris family chose to take up residence in Rainbow Valley, and the generation eight kids continuedto grow up.



“Before I knew it Kalana and Aiden’s twin boys had started to school. Atticus was the spitting

image of his father, except for the Goldweaver family brow of course while Athan his youngerbrother took his looks from his mother.”



“The boys were almost inseparable despite being polar opposites in personality.”



“Atticus was naturally good with animals. He could get an animal to do just about anything

he wanted seemingly without even having to train them.”



“Poor Athan was simply petrified of dogs.”



“But he was a natural gardener having inherited his green thumb from his grandma

Tristen.”



“And while Athan seemed to have a special bond with Tristen like his mother Kalana,

Atticus had a soft spot for Toren.”



Atticus was a natural when it came to his studies. He was always bringing home topmarks that could be displayed on the refrigerator.”



“Athan didn’t excel in academics like his brother, but his lack of A+’s didn’t seem to phase him. He

had a happy go lucky personality and honestly very little in life bother him.”



“I’m afraid the poor boy also wasn’t so good at reading people’s emotions. He seemed to

unfortunately try to engage others in a conversation at the worst possible moment. He had a knackfor trying to hug his mother, or tell his father a joke, or pulling a prank on his brother at the worstpossible moment.”



“His brother on the other hand. Well Atticus was never alone. He was always bringing home a cousin,

or a classmate. And Atticus never seemed to make a social blunder.”



“Did I mention Atticus was a crafty little snake? Like both his parents Atticus could be extremely

competitive. So much so that he put his father and mother to shame when it came to cheating atgames. He’d cheat his grandmother; even his father wouldn’t do that.”



“He’d cheat against his father.”



“And his mother.”



“The kid could even cheat against his grandfather! If he’d tried that 10 years earlier Atticus

never would have gotten away with it.”



“You just don’t like that he was smart enough to beat you.”

“Aleron? When have I ever in the history of the world been good at chess? Cheating isn’t necessary.”

“We know.”

“Gem, you’re not helping here.”



“Well at least you can still catch us all at it when we cheat.”

“Oh yeah that makes me feel loads better. It still doesn’t take away the sting that every generation since generation 6

thinks it’s fun to try and cheat me at chess. It’s like they think I’m too stupid to catch them.”

“Oh come on Ry baby. You know we all love you to pieces. I mean you have to admit that you just pull the best faces

evah when you catch us cheating. We can’t help ourselves!’



“Fine, I’m adorable. Anyway when Atticus took time out of his day not to take every game like a life or

death situation he could be a great older brother. He was the neat freak while his brother was a completeslob. Atticus was nice enough to clean up after Athan so he wouldn’t get on his mother’s last nerve.



“Athan found better ways to amuse himself each day like jumping on the furniture.”



“Or fishing in the family pond.”



“I always found fishing with Athan in the evenings much more relaxing.”

“We both know you loved Atticus. And the rest of us who have tried to cheat you over the years.”

“Yeah Ryker. You know you love us!”



“Ahem. So Athan was the more laid back and less competitive of the twins. And of course

I still love all the cheats in my life. That’s just the wonderful person that I am.”



“Well it’s not like Toren never got onto Atticus about his cheating.”



“But though they were different, they were also the same. They both loved to swim.”



“And who doesn’t like a pillow-fight after dark in the family cemetery!”

*snort* “Aleron, you’re too much sometimes.”



“They both loved grilled cheese sandwiches especially the ones Grandma Tristen made.”



“And camping with Papa Toren was always fun.”



“And they both loved to dance, though Athan seemed to be the only one born with a right and left foot.

Atticus seemed to have only got two left feet from his grandfather Toren.”



“And they both loved games! Though Athan loved to play games just for the fun of it, while Atticus

loved to play games so he could win.”



“And the brothers quickly found they were part of a very exclusive club. TWC or The Twins

Club. Generation 8 had four sets of twins born all around the same time and the group werealways together.



“The eldest twins were Rhiannon and Eli’s sons Myrddin and Cai.”



“Next in line were the Huinke twin girls. Daughters of Xanthe and Dyami Huinke. Shy little Migisi was

born first of the pair.”



“And the whirlwind that was Kimimela or Kimi came next.”



“And then the second cousins Bors and Neveah came in third. They are of course my grand-babies. My poor Bors was a bit of social screw-up too.”



“Maybe that’s one of the reasons he and Athan stuck together like glue.”



“My sweet little Neveah had a soft spot for firecracker Kimi.”



“And so did Atticus, much to his mother’s disappointment.”

“But Kimi loved her Auntie Lana.”

“Of course she did, and her Auntie Lana loved her. She just didn’t like her twin’s little girl.”



Migisi her twin sister seemed to prefer Athan and Bors company most of all.”



“Myrddin and Cai spent all their hours with Atticus since they were both very loud and messy. Well, I don’t

think Atticus liked the messy part, but the loud part was great!”



“But really everyone liked Atticus even the quiet cousins like my Neveah. It probably helped

that Atticus was always willing to be the hero and save his cousins from the mean kids thatmade them cry.”



“he was even nice enough to let his cousin Migisi win games sometimes. But not too much. After all

he loved to win.”



“But don’t think the boys didn’t spend anytime with their mom and dad. Though both parents worked and a lot in

Kalana’s case, Grandma and Grandpa made sure they took time to enjoy their kids. After all they wouldn’t stay young

forever. You could find Kalana and her boys together on Sundays the one day she took off.”



“And you could find them learning the strange ways of distant worlds from their father on

Saturdays when the rain wouldn’t permit the TWC to meet.”



Well I’ll end Chapter 34 with a picture of the other Generation 7 couple Sun and Betty Liris. I don’t knowif we’ll see much of the Liris line since the story was always meant to be about the Goldweaver or Loros

family. Hopefully no one is too confused by this most recent turn of events. I don’t know how I came up

with this stuff when I was a kid…. Don’t worry I’ll be posting picks of the other Liris couples on my

Livejournal page in a few days for those who want to see them.
