About the 64th Annual Gold Coast Fashion Show The Gold Coast Fashion Show (GCFS) is the signature fundraising event of the Children’s Service Board (CSB) of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. In 2018, some of Chicago’s most influential corporate and community leaders attended the event which raised more than $1 million in support of the Department of Family Services at Lurie Children’s.

About the Children’s Service BoardThe Children’s Service Board (CSB) is a group of women dedicated to philanthropy in support of vital programs at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago through service opportunities, collaborative energy and purpose-driven fundraising. Since the board’s inception in 1955, the CSB has contributed more than $16 million to support and advance critical areas of pediatric care.
In January 2018, the CSB made a $2.5 million commitment to the Department of Family Services at Lurie Children’s. Funds raised at the 2019 Gold Coast Fashion Show will support this commitment and enable Family Services to align with clinical teams to provide the best possible care and experience for patients and their families.

Current InitiativeThe Gold Coast Fashion Show will continue to support the CSB’s current $2.5 million commitment to the Department of Family Services.
A hospital is not a natural place for a child to be. Whether their stay is counted in days, weeks or even months, hospitalized children miss the comforts of home and family and the routine of school and other activities. Funded entirely by philanthropy, Lurie Children’s Department of Family Services offers a number of programs created to normalize the hospital experience.
Child life specialists provide a sense of calm and trust in young patients. Programs like art and music therapy help children express their feelings, which reduces stress and speeds healing, while the school services staff helps patients keep up with their classmates. And then there’s the Family Life Center, a treatment free area with a variety of activities for children and adolescents. Family Services also include a number of programs to help families, including interpreters, social workers and chaplains.
