World Sparrow day
WREL AP 30MW, Kadapa , Andhra Pradesh
It is believed that sparrow population in the metropolitan cities like Mumbai has been decreasing very rapidly. Contrary to this belief a large ock of sparrows is a very common sight at Trombay Coal Jetty. Tireless eorts for attracting and rearing sparrows by Philip Noronha and Mr. Yashwant Ghadge (now superannuated) of Trombay CLP since last 3-4 years has resulted in such a beautiful sight. The initiative is enthusiastically continued by M/s Rajan Kaushik, Head-Trombay CLP, Yogesh Lokare and Lalit Neve. A sparrow house was made of scrap material to provide shelter for sparrows and protect them from the predators. Contract workmen too are doing their bit in this green task of protecting and rearing sparrows. Congratulations to Team Trombay for such a marvelous eort.
