Heat Loss

• The Measure of a products ability to resist heat flow is called R-Value.

Sustainable Fabrics

• Organic Linings & Interlinings• Silks, Hemp, Linen, Recycled Polyester

Page 24: Going Beyond Leed

Sustainable SilkSilk is hand woven in India using individual family weavers that we are directly supporting.Fabrics are made on hand made wooden looms - some of which are at least 100 years old.

No electrical energy is used in the spinning, weaving or dyeing process, leaving a zero carbon foot print.

Page 25: Going Beyond Leed

The Silk Dupioni is made on Hand Looms at a rate of 4 yards per day! They use Organic Neem as a fertilizer. Hand reared silkworms, hand spun and woven in the traditional method for millenniums.

Page 26: Going Beyond Leed

• It was discovered that the Neem Tree was the only living plant not devastated by the Sudanese Locust Plague, in 1957. They use the seeds and organic compost made from the Neem Tree to fertilize the Mulberry trees that are used to hand rear the Bombyx Morii silk worms. Also by using mostly natural dyes, they create a SUSTAINABLE silk product.

ORGANIC HEMPGrown Responsibly • The fibers were grown by independent

Romanian farmers in an area of the country that has, for many generations, depended on the growing of hemp. These small families use no pesticides, insecticides, fungicides or synthetic fertilizers.

Green Upholstery Fabrics:

• Upholstery Fabrics made of 100% recycled polyester. Recycled polyester is a unique blend of post-industrial and post-consumer fibers. These fabrics are woven and treated with no additional chemicals. During the finishing process, water based products and environmentally approved dyes are used.

Natural Latex Foam• Natural Latex Foam is made from the rubber

tree, (Hevea brasiliensis) and is the most durable cushioning material on the market today.

• Natural Latex Foams are also the perfect Sustainable choice. It is 100% free of any polyurethane polyols.

Woven Collection• This is a product with natural fibers that are woven

by artists’ hands in the parts of the world where the age-old craft is studied and respected. Every weave is as beautiful as it is unique. Fashioned by craftsmen, not machines, our Woven Shades give your room designs warmth, elegance, refinement and a rich story of history and tradition.

WEAVING The hand weaving techniques used to make

these shades and draperies have been handed down for generations. Taking three days or more to laboriously weave one roll of material may seem absurd to some, but to us, using the energy of the human hand captures the spirit of craftsmanship, rather than exhausting our planet’s limited resources..

Recycling concerns are addressed through a careful analysis of the workroom processes. All remnants and cutoffs are donated to local schools. Client's old treatments are recycled. All polyurethane foam and waste from fabrication and installation is recycled within state laws.
