George Washington Carver was the child of Mary and Giles. Mary,one of George's sisters, and George Washington Carver were kidnapped by raiders from Arkansas. An agent of Moses Carver tracked down

George and brought him back to Missouri. Once slavery ended in 1865, Moses and Susan Carver decided to take care of George and his brother James. biography.com
