    GlyazGlyaz, Bursann en zengin antik yerleim yerlerinden biridir. Bursa-zmir karayolunun 35kilometresinde bulunan yol ayrmndan 7 kilometre mesafelik bir yolla ulalan ve UluabatGlnn dou ucunda, derin bir yarmadann zerinde kurulan beldenin tarihi M.. 6. yzydek uzanr.Yazl kaynaklardan edinilen bilgilere gre; Glyaz beldesinin antik ad, bugn Orhaneli ay(Kocaay) dediimiz antik Ryndacus rmandan kaynaklanan Apollonia ad Rhyndacumdur.Apollonia eski alarn k tanrs idi. Antik alarda Anadoluda kurulmu Apollonia adl dokolduu bilinir. Bu adn dier kentlerden ayrlabilmesi, iin Apolyont (Uluabat) gln besleyen A(avdarhisar) evresinden kan Rhyndacus denilen rmaa atfen konduu kaynaklarda belirtilir.

    Glyaz Glyaz Bursas one of the richest locations. The town is located on a chersonese at the easternpoint of Uluabat Lake; it is reached after 7 km from a junction, which is on 35th km of Bursa-zmir Road.The towns history goes over to B.C 6th century. According to written instruments; Antique name of Glyaz Town is Apollonia ad Rhyndacum that we say Orhaneli Brook (Kocaay) today and thiscomes from Ryndacus River. Apollonia was the God of the Light at the old eras. It is known that nine towns, named Apollonia, were located in Anatolia at Antique Eras. This name was given to make it different from the other towns so it is indicated on some sources that, this name was given referring Rhyndacus Rivers, which feeds Apolyont (Uluabat) Lake that is close to Aizonai (avdarhisar).Glyaz developed at Rome Era; the town specially gained sacred artefacts at Constantinople Time.

    No archaeological excavation has been carried out inGlyaz by this time; some information has been acquired by examining the coins, which had been found at the area.Crawfish embosses were minted in Apollonia in B.C 1st century.     Glyaz, Trklerle Rumlarn ortak tarihi asndan nemlizelliklere sahip bir beldedir. Eski bir Rum ky olan vebugn daha ok mbadele ile Selanikten g edenlerinyaad Glyaz, Osmanl dneminde Trklerle Rumlarnbirarada yaad ve Rumlarn ounlukta olduu bir yerleimmerkeziydi. 1924 ylnda mbadele anlamas ile gelenTrk gmenler, Glyaz ve evresi ile uyum salamlar,alkanlklaryla evre kltrn gelitirmilerdir.Tamam ST alan olan ve bal olduu ileye adn verenmuhteem nilfer ieklerine ev sahiplii yapan UluabatGl, 24 metre arasndaki derinlii ve puslu havasyla farklbir grnt yanstr. Glyaz halknn geim kayna tarm,balklk ve turizmdir.Glde turna, sazan ve kyller tarafndan Feki ad verilen kk bir balk tr yaar. Uluabatn simgesi olan kerevit ise blgehalknn geim kayna olmaktan oktan karak anlardaki yerinialm durumdadr. lkbaharda gln ykselmesiyle su iinde kalanaalar, yine bu sularda szlen rdekler, ou zaman glkaplayan sis, sazlk blgeler, sandallarnda avlanan balkkadnlar, Arnavut kaldrml sokaklar; antik ada Apolyont olarak bilinen bu kyn gzelliklerinden yalnzca birkadr.

    Glyaz, which is an old Greek Village and mostly emigrantwho had come from Salonica, live, was a location that Turks and mostly Greeks lived together at Ottoman Times.Turkish Emigrants, who came to the area by the populationexchange agreement in 1924, accommodated to Glyazand improved the culture of the area.Uluabat Lake, which is completely protected are, hosts the fantastic lotus flowers, reflects an extraordinary view with idepth of 2-4 meters and fuzzy air.Source of living of Glyaz People is agriculture, fishery and tourism. Crane fish, carp fish and Feki fish (a small ficalled Feki by the villagers) live in the Lake.The crawfish, which is symbol of Uluabat Lake, is not the source of living for People of Glyaz anymore, it is only remembered commemoratively.Some of the beauties of this village, which is knownApolynot at antique era, are: the trees, which remain in the water when the lake rises; the ducks swim on this water, themarshy places, the fisher women, hunt fishes on the boats,and the cobblestoned pavement streets.
