God’s Not Dead 2 - Grace Wesley, an AP history teacher, has found herself on trial for answering a student’s question comparing the nonviolent practices of Mahatma Gandhi and Jesus. After some disgruntled parents �nd out, they �le a complaint with the board of education. After initial deliberations, Grace refuses to apolo-gize or deny her faith which leads her to be put on trial, the outcome of which will ultimately decide the fate of her job and teaching licensure. It is now up to her union-appointed lawyer, a non-believing man named Tom Endler, to prove that she was only answering what the student asked with a factual and historical answer, not preaching her faith. This �lm has had many bad reviews online and while I cannot truly rate this movie without bias, I �nd many of them unfounded. While there are some awkward claims of faith in Jesus where it is hard to �nd the actors speaking genuinely, I thought this movie gave a podium to an issue that is increasingly prevalent in today’s society. That is, the right to practice one’s faith freely and not be accused of infringing on another’s beliefs. This �lm has many well-known actors such as Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalf, David A.R. White and a special appearance of the singers of “God’s Not Dead”, Newsboys. According to the MPAA, it has a rating of PG for its portrayal of unrest, arguments in court, for depictions of grief, and other “violence”. I personally recommend this �lm to anyone who shares a belief in Christ and is old enough to understand what being a believer means. I give this �lm a 4/5.
